Batch-compressing wedding videos prepares the files; it does not start a YouTube livestream. To create a live loop, first make consistent, quality-checked video files, then send the sequence to YouTube Live through an encoder. YouTube’s upload recommendations and live-ingest settings are different, so use the upload profile for file preparation and the live profile for the outgoing stream.
1. Decide what the live loop should play
Choose a continuous montage or a sequence of clips
Decide whether viewers should see one edited, continuous montage or a sequence that moves from one wedding clip to the next. A continuous montage gives you control over the order and transitions; a sequence keeps the clips separate. Either way, do not assume that files with different formats, frame rates, dimensions, or audio tracks can be concatenated seamlessly. Check how your chosen editing or encoding software handles the actual files.
Inventory the source files
Before compressing, list the clips you intend to use and note their resolution, frame rate, audio, duration, and format. Keep the originals untouched and make a separate working copy. Differences in source dimensions, frame rates, audio tracks, and existing compression affect both the final quality and file size; a test encode is the only reliable way to see the result for your footage.
- Remove clips you do not have permission to broadcast.
- Check that any music in the footage is cleared for livestreaming. This is an operational rights check, not legal advice.
- Choose a target resolution and frame rate that suit your intended viewing quality and the computer that will encode the live stream.
2. Batch-compress the clips and inspect a sample
Use a consistent output profile
Use batch encoding in the video editor or encoder of your choice, setting the same intended output resolution and frame rate across the working copies where the software allows it. YouTube’s guidance for ordinary uploads recommends MP4 with H.264 video, progressive scan, High Profile, two consecutive B frames, a closed GOP (a GOP of half the frame rate), CABAC, variable bitrate, and 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. It also recommends encoding at the same frame rate as the recording. For audio, YouTube lists AAC-LC, Opus, or Eclipsa Audio and 48 kHz. These are upload recommendations, not a recipe for the live stream’s encoder settings. See YouTube’s upload encoding recommendations.

- Get NVMe solid state performance with up to 1050MB/s read and 1000MB/s write speeds in a portable, high-capacity drive(1) (Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending on host device & other factors. 1MB=1,000,000 bytes.)

- Easily manage files and automatically free up space with the SanDisk Memory Zone app.(5). Non-Operating Temperature -20°C to 85°C
For compression, use a quality-oriented setting offered by your software rather than assuming that one bitrate will suit every source. Smaller files can come at the cost of visible artifacts, especially in detailed scenes, motion, or low-light footage. No specific batch-compression application, guaranteed size reduction, or single setting is established as best for every wedding clip.
Run a short test before processing the full set
- Select a representative clip with movement, changing light, and audible speech or music.
- Encode a short sample using your chosen batch profile.
- Watch the sample at the size and screen type your audience is likely to use. Look for blocking, softness, banding, or other visible artifacts.
- Listen for clipping, missing audio, and audio that falls out of sync with the picture.
- If the sample is acceptable, apply the same profile to the remaining working copies and review several outputs before building the loop.
3. Set up the YouTube Live encoder separately
For the ordinary encoder workflow, YouTube’s live settings cover RTMP/RTMPS ingestion. YouTube lists H.264, H.265, or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio; it recommends constant bitrate (CBR), frame rates up to 60 fps, and a two-second keyframe interval that must not exceed four seconds. These are live-ingest requirements and recommendations, not file-compression settings. Check YouTube’s current live encoder settings.

Choose the live bitrate from the current YouTube guide
Use the bitrate YouTube currently lists for your chosen resolution and frame rate in its live encoder guide or Live Control Room. YouTube’s English and localized page results have shown different recommended H.264 values for some resolutions, so a single bitrate table should not be treated as universally current. The displayed recommendation is not a guarantee that your connection can sustain the stream. The live settings are general; no India-only encoder profile or minimum connection speed is established by the cited YouTube guidance.
In India, as elsewhere, test from the actual location and internet connection you plan to use. A speed test can help you assess the connection, but it does not replace a full test stream under the conditions you expect during the broadcast.

Keep the stream key private
In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and retrieve its stream key in the stream setup. Enter the key in your encoder’s YouTube destination settings, following the current labels in YouTube Studio and your encoder; interface wording can change. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, include it in a screenshot, or share it with anyone who should not be able to send video to your channel.
4. Test the loop and watch stream health
- Set up a private or otherwise appropriate test broadcast from the computer and connection intended for the event.
- Send a representative section of the prepared video, including both movement and audio.
- In YouTube Live Control Room, monitor stream-health messages while the test is running. YouTube advises testing with representative audio and movement and monitoring stream health during the event. YouTube’s live encoder help provides the current settings guidance.
- Check that the image and sound reach YouTube as expected before relying on the full playlist or montage.
Compression does not itself create a livestream or guarantee a seamless loop. The prepared files must still be played through an encoder that sends a continuous feed to YouTube, and the test should cover the sequence transitions you plan to use.

5. Troubleshoot common problems
| What you see | Likely area to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The live preview does not appear | Live setup or encoder connection | Confirm the stream is configured in YouTube Studio, the encoder is sending to the intended destination, and the correct stream key is entered. Do not expose the key while troubleshooting. |
| YouTube reports stream-health problems | Outgoing live settings or connection | Compare the encoder’s live settings with YouTube’s current guidance for the selected resolution and frame rate. Test again on the actual broadcast connection and monitor Live Control Room health messages. |
| The compressed file looks worse than the original | Compression settings or source footage | Revisit the sample encode and use a less aggressive compression setting. Compare clips at the intended viewing size before batch-processing the complete set. |
| A clip has no sound or audio is out of sync | Source audio or batch output | Check that clip’s source and encoded copy separately, then revise the output settings or exclude the faulty copy. Review a sample before processing the whole batch. |
| Clip transitions interrupt the loop | How the sequence is assembled or played | Test the transitions in the same arrangement and playback method you will use live. Do not assume that differing source formats will join without a gap. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want to keep a YouTube channel live without leaving a computer or home connection running, StreamNeo plays uploaded videos from the cloud. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It is for uploaded videos, not a live camera feed.
