Use OBS Studio on a computer connected to your JioFiber gateway, add the video as a looping Media Source, then send it to YouTube Live using the stream URL and private stream key. A wired Ethernet connection and enough measured upload bandwidth can improve the setup, but neither OBS nor JioFiber can guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast through a power cut, network fault, ISP disruption, encoder crash, or YouTube ingest problem.

What you need before you start

  • A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. First-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
  • A computer that can play and encode the video continuously, with OBS Studio installed.
  • The prerecorded video file stored locally on that computer.
  • A measured, stable upload connection with enough capacity for the chosen stream bitrate and other household traffic.
  • Your YouTube Live stream URL and private stream key. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel.

Set up a looping YouTube Live stream in OBS

  1. Enable live streaming and create the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live and create or schedule a stream in Live Control Room. Follow the encoder setup details there to obtain the stream URL and key. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that is an archive threshold, not a promise of unlimited runtime.
  2. Create an OBS scene and add the video. In OBS, add a Media Source, select the local video file, and enable Loop in that source’s properties. OBS’s Media Source supports common local video formats. For a playlist, use OBS’s VLC Video source, install VLC, add the playlist, and enable Loop Playlist.
  3. Set video output to a sustainable format. Choose a resolution and frame rate the computer can encode reliably. Set a bitrate that the actual upload connection can sustain, leaving room for other devices and traffic. In YouTube’s encoder guidance, recommended settings include constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Use RTMPS where available for encrypted delivery. YouTube advises testing with realistic motion and audio rather than assuming a static picture represents the load.
  4. Connect OBS to YouTube. Enter the stream URL and stream key in OBS’s streaming settings, then confirm the selected service and server details. Treat the key like a password. If you think it has been exposed, reset it in YouTube Live Control Room and update OBS with the replacement.
  5. Prefer Ethernet to Wi-Fi when practical. Connect the computer to a LAN port on the JioFiber home gateway using an Ethernet cable. Jio’s gateway instructions identify the LAN port for a wired device. This makes the local connection less dependent on wireless signal quality, but it cannot resolve an ISP-side fault or keep the stream online during a power outage.
  6. Start a test broadcast and inspect it in YouTube. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before an event and starting at least 15 minutes beforehand. Check the Live Control Room preview, audio, video, and stream health. If you rely on failover, test it where available. For a local recording or archive, confirm the file is being written and growing as expected.
  7. Monitor while it runs. Watch YouTube’s stream health and OBS’s dropped-frame statistics. YouTube recommends keeping available upload bandwidth about 20% above the total stream bitrate. Household uploads, other network use, and connection disruptions can consume that headroom.

Is your JioFiber upload speed enough?

There is no universal JioFiber plan answer: the relevant figure is the upload speed you actually measure at the computer, along with the OBS bitrate and simultaneous household use. Run a speed test from the location and connection you will use, preferably over Ethernet, and test at the time of day you expect to broadcast. A speed-test result is a momentary measurement, not a guarantee of the connection’s sustained performance.

As a practical check, compare the OBS video and audio bitrate total with the measured upload capacity, then preserve YouTube’s recommended roughly 20% headroom. If the stream health warning or OBS dropped frames appear, reduce bitrate and test again. Lowering bitrate helps only when insufficient capacity is the issue; it will not cure an unstable route or a hardware fault.

Why a looping stream can still stop

The OBS Loop setting repeats the local media file. It does not restart every part of the broadcast chain if something fails. The file can keep looping while OBS loses its connection, the computer sleeps or crashes, the router or modem fails, household power goes out, JioFiber has an upstream disruption, or YouTube’s ingest connection is interrupted.

  • Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.

  • TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.

OBS notes that dropped frames can mean the connection to the remote ingest server is unstable or cannot keep up with the configured bitrate. Possible causes include the modem or router, Ethernet cable, network card, another device on the network, and ISP-side conditions. A cable check, router restart, or bitrate change is a diagnostic step—not a guaranteed fix. If the local network checks out but the route remains unstable, contact the ISP.

For unattended operation, arrange monitoring or alerts and test recovery on the actual setup. YouTube recommends monitoring and provides a failover test where available, but OBS plus JioFiber does not have a universal automatic-recovery guarantee established by the cited guidance.

Ways to keep a YouTube prerecorded stream running

Option Computer at home Home power and broadband Looping or scheduling Cost and recovery
StreamNeo — first option to consider No; it runs the uploaded video in the cloud. Not dependent on your home computer or home connection once running. Loops uploaded videos and playlists on YouTube. Any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; first day free with no card. Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
OBS on a home computer Yes; the computer and OBS must stay running. Dependent on home electricity, local network, and JioFiber service. OBS Media Source can loop a file; VLC Video can loop a playlist with VLC installed. OBS is a local encoder; current total operating costs and automatic recovery are not established by the cited sources.
Gyre cloud service The encoder runs in the cloud rather than on your home computer. Does not rely on the home computer’s ongoing connection for the stream itself. YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud-based prerecorded-video service. Current pricing, service guarantees, and recovery details are not established here; verify them with the provider.
AJA HELO Plus dedicated encoder A standalone encoder is used instead of a general-purpose computer. Still requires a working local network and power connection. YouTube lists scheduled prerecorded-media playback. Current total cost and recovery guarantees are not established here; verify them with the provider.

Or let it run in the cloud

With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud loops the uploaded video, so nothing has to stay powered on at home. Every slot streams the video as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; StreamNeo can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube prerecorded-video streams, not camera broadcasts. Start your free day with StreamNeo.

Troubleshooting common interruptions

Symptom Likely issue What to check
OBS reports dropped frames or YouTube stream health degrades Upload capacity is insufficient, the connection is unstable, or an intermediary device or ISP path is having trouble. Compare bitrate with measured upload speed; leave headroom, reduce bitrate for a controlled retest, check the cable and network hardware, and contact JioFiber if the path remains unstable.
Video loops locally but the YouTube broadcast ends The media loop is working, but the encoder or ingest connection has stopped. Check OBS connection status and YouTube Live Control Room. Restart or reconnect the encoder if needed, then test the recovery procedure before leaving it unattended.
Stream key or server connection fails The key, URL, or encoder configuration may be wrong, or the key may have been reset. Copy the current stream URL and key from Live Control Room into OBS. Reset the key if compromised and replace the old value in OBS.
Stream is unstable over Wi-Fi Wireless signal or interference may be affecting the local link. Where practical, connect the computer to the gateway’s LAN port with Ethernet, then test again. A wired link does not address upstream outages.
Broadcast stops during a power cut or computer sleep The local encoder or gateway has lost power, or the computer stopped running. Prevent sleep while streaming and consider a different operating model if local power continuity is not practical. A looping source cannot keep OBS running after the computer shuts down.

Copyright, reused content, and long broadcasts

Only stream video and audio you have the rights or permission to use. A video file being prerecorded does not exempt it from YouTube’s copyright rules. Repeated or minimally changed material may also affect channel monetization under YouTube’s reused-content policies; check the current rules in YouTube’s channel monetization policies before building a channel around loops. For live-stream eligibility, setup, and archive behavior, consult YouTube’s current encoder setup guidance.
