Then sign the URL2PNG v6 request using the exact query string you send, choose the viewport and full-page setting you need, and use accept_languages only if the site selects its language from the request header. A language header or extra wait cannot fix missing glyphs or incorrect page content.
Check the Hindi page and its font first
A screenshot service captures what the page renders; it does not translate text or install fonts. Before building the request, open the target page and verify that it actually serves Hindi content and that its CSS uses a font with Devanagari coverage. If it relies on a remote web font, confirm that the stylesheet and font file can load in the rendering environment.
Google Fonts’ setup guidance recommends linking its stylesheet, applying the chosen family in CSS, and including a generic fallback. Its technical documentation explains that the browser downloads the font after downloading the CSS. Font-loading behavior can differ: some browsers may leave space blank until the font arrives, while Firefox may initially show fallback text and rerender later. URL2PNG advertises web-font rendering generally, but its available documentation does not identify a Devanagari-specific font, describe a Hindi test, or guarantee Hindi rendering in every configuration. Check the returned image rather than treating a successful API response as proof that the text rendered correctly.

Build and sign a URL2PNG v6 request
URL2PNG v6 uses an API key and a token calculated from the full query string plus the secret. Follow its current signing procedure and generate the token from the exact query string you send: changing an option changes the signed string. Keep the secret out of public client-side code. The official URL2PNG Quickstart contains the request and signing instructions.
The guide also shows URL-encoded target URLs. Encode the target as a query parameter rather than concatenating an unescaped URL into the request. For example, query strings within the target URL must remain part of the encoded target value, not accidentally become URL2PNG options. Use the v6 procedure rather than assuming examples from older clients or protocol forms follow identical signing details.

Choose capture dimensions and page coverage
The URL2PNG guide documents viewport in widthxheight form, with a default of 1480x1037. The fullpage option attempts to capture the entire document canvas and defaults to false, meaning viewport-only capture. These are service configuration defaults, not guarantees about how a particular site will lay out.
- Use a viewport that matches the layout you need to inspect; a narrow viewport can trigger a mobile layout, while a wide one may show a desktop layout.
- Set
fullpage=truewhen you need the document canvas beyond the initial viewport. Inspect the result for clipping or unexpectedly scaled text. - When comparing captures, keep the target URL and dimensions fixed so changes in the result are easier to trace.
Set the language header only when the site needs it
accept_languages overrides URL2PNG’s documented default Accept-Language header, en-US,en;q=0.8. Specify a Hindi language preference if the target site uses that header to choose localized content. This setting affects locale negotiation; it does not select, download, or install a Devanagari font, and it cannot correct incorrect page markup.

Wait for late content and fonts
URL2PNG documents two relevant capture-readiness controls. say_cheese=true waits for a page element with the ID url2png-cheese. A fixed delay waits a number of seconds after document readiness and asset loading. If you control the target page, a page-controlled signal can be more meaningful than an arbitrary delay; otherwise, a delay may help when content appears late.
Neither setting repairs a failed font request or missing glyph coverage. If the font is still absent after the wait, investigate its URL, CSS family, network accessibility, and whether the page’s content is inserted after the readiness event.

- Text is blank or shown as boxes: inspect the page’s computed font family and verify that the selected font has Devanagari coverage. Check whether the web-font stylesheet and font file loaded successfully.
- The page is in the wrong language: confirm the target URL and whether the site chooses language from
Accept-Language. If it does, setaccept_languages; do not expect it to change font rendering. - Some text or images are missing: check whether they appear only after page load. Use the page’s
url2png-cheesereadiness element where you can arrange it, or try a suitable fixeddelay. - The page is clipped: verify the viewport dimensions and whether
fullpage=trueis needed. Inspect for layout changes caused by the selected viewport. - A repeat request looks stale: use the documented
uniqueandttlfreshness controls to determine whether a cached capture is being returned.
For a controlled comparison, hold the URL constant and vary one factor at a time: font loading, readiness signal or delay, language header, dimensions/full-page setting, and cache freshness. This is a diagnostic method based on the documented controls, not a claim that a particular Hindi page has been tested.

Does accept_languages=hi make Hindi text render correctly?
No. It can influence language selection when a site uses the Accept-Language header, but it does not provide Devanagari glyphs or fix font loading.
Does URL2PNG guarantee Devanagari rendering?
Its documentation describes web-font rendering generally, but does not establish a Hindi-specific rendering guarantee.
