On a computer, open the webpage, press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux or Command+P on Mac, choose Save as PDF, and inspect the preview before saving. On Android Chrome, use More > Share > Print, then select Save as PDF. Check actual Hindi text—including vowel signs and joined consonants—in both the preview and the saved PDF: creating a PDF does not guarantee that Devanagari will look right.
Save a webpage as a PDF on a computer
- Open the webpage and wait for the content you need to appear. Expand any interactive sections you want included.
- Open the print dialog. In Chrome on Windows or Linux, press Ctrl+P; on Mac, press Command+P. You can also use File > Print. In Firefox, open the menu and choose Print.
- Set the destination to Save as PDF (Firefox labels its destination Save to PDF).
- Review the preview before saving. Find Hindi words containing vowel marks and joined consonants, and zoom in enough to see whether their marks and shapes are intact.
- Save the PDF, open it in a PDF viewer, and inspect those same words again. If you need searchable or copyable Hindi, separately test selecting or copying text; visual appearance alone does not establish that the PDF text layer works as expected.
Save a webpage as a PDF in Chrome on Android
- Open the page and wait for the content to load. Expand any sections that should appear in the document.
- Tap More > Share > Print.
- Choose Save as PDF, select a location, and save.
- Open the saved file and inspect representative Hindi words, including words with vowel signs and combined consonants.
Fix layout problems before saving
If Hindi text or the page layout looks wrong in the preview, try another available print setting and inspect the preview again. Options can include paper size, scale, margins, and orientation; Firefox also documents a simplified/original format choice where available. A webpage may control how it appears on paper, so a setting change may not resolve every issue.
If the preview is still unsuitable, try printing the same page from another browser. Neither a successful export nor a particular browser guarantees identical rendering for every page: the result depends in part on the webpage and its fonts.
Why Devanagari needs a visual check
Devanagari has script-specific layout and presentation requirements. W3C’s guidance on Devanagari layout is intended for web and digital-publication implementers; for a reader saving a page, the practical check is to inspect real Hindi text in the print preview and then in the exported PDF. Look closely at marks and joined forms rather than assuming that a file that opens is correctly rendered.

Optional: configure web-to-PDF conversion in Acrobat
Adobe Acrobat documents web-page-to-PDF conversion settings, including Language Specific Font Settings for script, font, and size. This is an optional route when you need more conversion controls than the browser print dialog offers. It cannot be relied on to repair a page whose text or font is defective.
