They are different capture routes. For a slow page you can open yourself, wait until the content you need appears in your browser tab, then use the extension; if URL capture still fails, take a browser screenshot and add it to the editor. Screenshot.Rocks’ reviewed official pages do not specify a timeout code, limit, or setting, so there is no documented timeout value to change.
First identify which Screenshot.Rocks capture route failed
Screenshot.Rocks documents two ways to get a screenshot into its editor: capturing a public website from its URL, or capturing from a page open in your own browser with the extension. The URL option sends the address to Screenshot.Rocks’ server; the extension flow starts with the page open in your browser. Screenshot.Rocks’ mockup generator page describes URL capture, while its extension page describes browser capture.
- URL capture failed: You entered a web address in the website-capture feature and the capture did not complete.
- Extension capture failed: You opened the page yourself and clicked the Screenshot.Rocks browser-extension button.
Note which route you used before troubleshooting. A workaround for one route does not establish the cause of a failure in the other.
If you used the browser extension
Wait for the needed content, then capture
- Open the target website in a browser tab and let it load.
- Wait until the specific content you want in the screenshot is visible in that tab.
- Click the Screenshot.Rocks extension button to capture the visible part of the current tab, then edit the resulting screenshot.
The extension is documented as capturing the visible part of the tab. It is not described as a remote renderer that waits for a slow website to finish loading. If the content has not appeared in the tab before you click, it will not be present in that visible-area capture.

For a full-length page
The extension page directs users to use their browser’s full-page screenshot feature, then add that image to the Screenshot.Rocks editor. The extension’s visible-part capture and a browser’s full-page capture are separate workflows.
If URL-based website capture timed out
- Confirm that you are using Screenshot.Rocks’ website-capture option for a URL, rather than the browser extension.
- If you can open the site in your own browser, use the extension after the required content appears, or take a browser screenshot and add the image to the editor.
- If URL capture continues to fail and you need a service-specific fix, consult current Screenshot.Rocks documentation or support.
Switching to a browser screenshot changes how the image is captured; it does not prove whether the original failure came from the target website, your network, or Screenshot.Rocks’ service.

What Screenshot.Rocks does and does not document about timeouts
The official product and extension pages reviewed here do not state a timeout error code, maximum wait, user-adjustable timeout, retry policy, or a diagnostic procedure for slow websites. Therefore, there is no source-backed Screenshot.Rocks timeout setting or numerical threshold to recommend. Avoid applying timeout values or settings documented by other screenshot providers as if they were Screenshot.Rocks options.
Screenshot.Rocks says in the image-handling FAQ on its mockup-generator page: “Only the optional website capture and the browser extension send a web address or a screenshot to our server, and neither is stored.” The same page says images added to the editor are processed in the browser.
