To capture lazy-loaded images with HTMLCSStoImage, request the page with full_screen: true. The service scrolls through the page as it captures, which is intended to trigger lazy-loaded content. If images are still missing, add a short ms_delay; if you control the page’s JavaScript, use render_when_ready and signal readiness with ScreenshotReady().
Capture the full page first
Send the fully qualified page address in url and enable full_screen when you need content below the initial viewport. The option captures the page’s entire height, and its scroll-through is intended to prompt lazy-loaded elements to load. See the full_screen documentation and the URL-to-image guide for request context.
After capture, inspect the output for missing images or placeholders. Full-screen scrolling can trigger a site’s lazy-loading behavior, but the documentation does not guarantee every site will finish loading every external image within the render timing.
Choose how to wait for images

The parameter reference describes these controls. The FAQ suggests starting with a fixed 500 ms delay and adjusting if needed. A longer delay may help slow assets but also increases render time; use the smallest delay that produces the result you need.

Request a full-page capture with a delay
For a page you do not control, begin with full-screen capture. If inspection shows images are still missing, add ms_delay and adjust from the documented 500 ms starting suggestion. The exact request syntax depends on your integration; pass url, full_screen, and the delay as parameters supported by your HTMLCSStoImage client or API request.
Do not treat max_wait_ms as a substitute for the delay or readiness signal. It limits the wait window; it does not establish that a specific image has loaded.

Signal readiness when you control the page
If your page code knows when its required images and other content are ready, enable render_when_ready: true and call ScreenshotReady() at that point. This is more predictable than guessing a fixed pause because the page itself determines when capture can proceed. It requires control of the page JavaScript; it is not a general fix for a third-party page whose code you cannot change. See the FAQ guidance and the vendor’s discussion of waiting for a page to finish rendering.
Troubleshoot missing or incomplete images
- The screenshot ends above the images: Confirm
full_screenis enabled. A viewport-only capture does not cover the whole page. - Images remain blank after full-page capture: Add
ms_delay, starting around 500 ms, then increase only if inspection shows more time is needed. - A delay does not resolve the issue: A fixed pause cannot verify image completion. If you control the page, use
render_when_readyand callScreenshotReady()once the needed assets are ready. - The page is slow and the capture waits too long: Set a suitable
max_wait_mswithin the documented 500–10,000 ms range. This caps the wait; it may also mean slow images are not ready before capture.
