For a lo-fi channel that needs a prerecorded playlist to stay live without a computer running at home, StreamNeo is the first service to consider. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports uploads up to 4K at 60 fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day without a card. Gyre is another cloud-looping option described in its provider materials; OBS is the do-it-yourself alternative if you want to run the encoder on your own computer.

This is a feature-fit recommendation, not an independently tested market-wide ranking. No source establishes which service has the best uptime or overall value. Before choosing, compare current storage, stream limits, scheduling, support, recovery, and pricing against your channel’s needs.

What a 24/7 lo-fi YouTube stream involves

A continuous lo-fi broadcast pairs prerecorded tracks with a visual—such as cover art, an animation, or a visualizer—and sends the result to YouTube as a live stream. You can run the encoder locally with software such as OBS, or use a cloud service that hosts uploaded video files and keeps the broadcast going without your computer.

These are different operating models, not just different interfaces. With a local encoder, your computer, internet connection, configuration, and monitoring keep the stream alive. With a cloud-looping service, the provider runs the broadcast infrastructure, but you remain responsible for the content, channel setup, compliance, and checking that the stream is behaving as intended.

Services and approaches to consider

Rank and option How it fits a lo-fi channel Computer must stay on? What to verify
1. StreamNeo Cloud service for looping uploaded videos on YouTube, with playlists and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60 fps; the first day is free without a card. No; StreamNeo runs the stream in the cloud. Confirm your files fit the 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots, and review the current plan duration and price.
2. Gyre Gyre describes a cloud service that uploads prerecorded video files, loops them, and can schedule streams. Its provider materials describe plan-dependent storage and simultaneous-stream limits. Gyre says no; the broadcast runs on its servers. Check current plan terms, file requirements, scheduling, stream limits, support, and failure recovery. Its provider materials do not establish independent reliability or best overall value.
3. OBS on a local computer Use a local encoder to send your media and stream output to YouTube. It offers control over the encoder setup without depending on a cloud-looping subscription. Yes; the computer and connection must keep sending the stream. Make sure the computer and network can operate continuously, and plan for monitoring and recovery after power, software, or connection failures.
4. Restream as a YouTube connection option Restream’s YouTube setup guidance documents a conventional encoder workflow. That guidance does not establish Restream as a hands-off host for looping prerecorded content 24/7. For a conventional encoder workflow, the encoder still needs to send the stream. Check the current setup flow and whether its features match your specific hosting and looping requirements.

For StreamNeo, every slot includes one always-on YouTube stream, playlists and 24/7 looping, 10 GB of pooled storage per slot, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. The uploaded file streams as made, with no re-encode or quality tiers; the same product is included on every plan, and only the billing period changes. Plans can be billed by day, week, month, six months, or year, with cancellation any time. UPI and cards are accepted in India, and card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

Check YouTube eligibility and live-stream limits first

YouTube’s Get started with live streaming guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube also requires livestreamers to be at least 16 and to follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Check YouTube Studio before preparing a launch, since account status and platform procedures can change.

Restream’s YouTube setup guide says first-time livestream activation requires phone verification followed by a 24-hour wait. Treat that as guidance to confirm in YouTube Studio rather than a guarantee that every account sees the same setup flow.

Video Game LoFi: Celeste - Nokbient 1xLP
  • Videospiel Lofi: Celeste (Original Soundtrack) [Vinyl LP]
  • ABIS_MUSIC

YouTube’s help documentation states a limit of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. Recheck the official guidance when planning concurrent broadcasts, especially if one channel will run several streams at once.

Prepare the music and visuals with rights in mind

Do not launch until you can document the rights for every track and visual in the loop. Permission needs to cover the intended continuous YouTube livestream, the relevant territories, and monetization if you plan to monetize. A “royalty-free” label by itself does not prove that a license allows livestreaming, repeated playback, or commercial use. Read the license terms and retain the records.

  • Use music and artwork you own or have explicit permission to use in the proposed stream.
  • Check whether the license covers looping, livestream distribution, monetization, territories, and use through a third-party streaming service.
  • Do not assume music from another YouTube radio channel or a consumer streaming subscription is cleared for rebroadcast.
  • Review YouTube’s rules before going live. A continuous format does not exempt a channel from copyright or account restrictions.

Gyre’s provider-authored music-streaming guide warns that livestreams can face real-time copyright scanning. It cannot establish whether your particular license permits a broadcast; only the applicable rights documents can answer that.

Set up a cloud-looped stream

  1. Prepare the content. Assemble your original or properly licensed tracks and visuals into video files. Make the playlist cohesive rather than a collection of unrelated dated clips.
  2. Check file and storage requirements. Confirm the service’s supported formats, file limits, and storage allowance before uploading. Gyre’s video-preparation guidance covers its upload preparation; verify current requirements in the service interface.
  3. Verify the YouTube channel. Confirm livestream eligibility, account standing, and any activation steps in YouTube Studio.
  4. Create or configure the YouTube live event. Obtain the event’s stream details, including the stream key, following YouTube’s current interface. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not control the broadcast.
  5. Connect the channel and select the playlist. In the cloud service, follow its current instructions to connect YouTube, choose the uploaded files or playlist, and set the schedule or start time.
  6. Test before relying on it. Check the stream in YouTube, confirm the expected audio and visuals, and monitor the event for errors. Make a recovery plan for a dropped stream, even when the provider says it can restart automatically.

Gyre’s guide to streaming prerecorded video as live describes this general cloud workflow, including upload, channel connection, playlist selection, and scheduling. Its plan details and interface can change, so confirm current requirements before paying or scheduling a broadcast.

What to know about stream duration and archives

Restream’s YouTube help page reports no YouTube stream-duration limit, but says YouTube archives livestreams only when they are shorter than 12 hours. If you need a VOD archive, do not assume one 24/7 event will produce a complete, usable recording. Keep a separate recording or plan appropriately segmented broadcasts, and confirm current archiving behavior with YouTube before depending on it.

Cost and operational trade-offs

Cloud service

A cloud service replaces the need to leave a home computer and connection running, but introduces a recurring service cost and provider-specific storage or stream limits. Compare the service’s current billing period, file allowance, support, scheduling, and failure-recovery terms. StreamNeo offers the same features across its plans, with the billing period as the difference. Its monthly plan is $9.99 per month.

Local OBS setup

OBS avoids a cloud-looping subscription, but the stream depends on your own computer, power, internet, software configuration, and attention. Consider the ongoing electricity and connectivity costs, plus how you will detect and fix an interruption. A dedicated computer is an option, not a requirement for cloud hosting.

Troubleshoot common launch problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check
You cannot start a YouTube livestream. The channel may not be verified, may have a restriction, or may not have completed first-time activation. Review livestream eligibility and account status in YouTube Studio; complete the current verification and activation flow.
The cloud service will not accept a video. The file may not match current format, size, or storage requirements. Check the provider’s current upload guidance and available storage, then prepare or export a compatible file.
The stream starts but the audio or picture is wrong. The source video, playlist order, or selected event may be incorrect. Preview the uploaded file and playlist, verify the selected YouTube event, and test playback before scheduling a long run.
The stream stops or reconnects. YouTube may have dropped the stream, or a local encoder/network may have failed. Check YouTube Studio and the service or encoder status. Confirm recovery behavior and monitor the restarted stream rather than assuming it recovered cleanly.
A track triggers a copyright issue. The license may not cover livestreaming, looping, or monetization, or a rights match may have occurred. Stop or replace the affected content as appropriate, review the claim and license documents, and use only content cleared for the intended use.
A complete archive is missing. The event may have exceeded YouTube’s reported under-12-hour archiving threshold. Use separate recording or plan segmented broadcasts if preserving a VOD is important; verify current YouTube behavior.

Or let it run in the cloud

With StreamNeo, upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer can stay off; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud. It plays uploads rather than going live from a camera, and streams to YouTube only.

  • No computer or home connection has to stay on.
  • Your upload streams at its original quality up to 4K 60 fps, at one price per slot rather than quality tiers.
  • Automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream.
  • The first day is free with no card required; one free day is available per account.

The monthly plan is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or use the copyright safety checklist before you schedule your music. To try it, start your free first day with StreamNeo.
