ScreenshotNeo is the first API to try if you need to automate captures and want cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets removed before the screenshot, with only clean captures billed. Other services handle bulk input in different ways: some accept a capped list, some queue a job for tracking, and some let you upload a CSV or text file. Choose by how you need to submit URLs and collect results—not just by the word “bulk.”

Best bulk screenshot APIs at a glance

Service Bulk workflow described Published limits or result handling Best fit
ScreenshotNeo Bulk capture accepts up to 100 URLs per call. Supports asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks; includes a usage API. Pricing starts at $5 for 3,000 shots. Vendor terms say bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing. Teams that want a documented API, failure-aware billing, and optional clean-up of consent banners, newsletters, and chat widgets.
url2image Submit URLs through its web interface or API; accepts CSV, text, or JSON array according to its product description. Vendor documentation says up to 500 URLs per batch and a 2 MB uploaded-list limit. Results include a ZIP with images and a manifest, plus a failed-render CSV when relevant. It says outputs are retained for 14 days. Users who want file-based batches and a downloadable archive with per-URL output records.
Screenshot API POST to /api/v1/screenshot/batch; the service returns a batch ID for tracking. Its documentation describes API-key authentication and options for output format and capture settings. A comparable batch maximum, retention period, and price are not stated in the available documentation. Developers who prefer a tracked batch job rather than retrieving every capture in the initial request.
ScreenshotOne A bulk endpoint wraps its regular screenshot endpoints and accepts a list of URLs. A directly comparable batch cap and price are not stated in the available bulk-endpoint information. Teams already using ScreenshotOne’s standard screenshot API that want to submit multiple URLs through its bulk interface.
ScreenshotRun Batch endpoint accepts up to 100 URLs per call. Each URL counts against the monthly quota. Other comparable billing and output-retention terms are not stated in the available documentation. Smaller batches where per-URL quota accounting is acceptable.
AddScreenshots Search-indexed API reference describes asynchronous capture from URL lists, sitemaps, or domains, with images uploaded to cloud storage. The surfaced reference is old; current endpoints, integrations, limits, and pricing need confirmation with the provider. Workflows organized around sitemaps or domains and cloud-storage delivery, if the current service supports the required setup.
ScreenshotCenter Describes text or CSV upload, retries, progress tracking, ZIP download, and cloud-storage delivery. The vendor calls its URL count unlimited; confirm account limits directly. Comparable pricing and retention are not stated in the available page details. Operators who prefer a file upload and visible batch progress over building a submission pipeline.
Website Screenshot API Describes asynchronous and bulk processing, with webhooks. Formats listed include PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF, and animation formats. A documentation example gives 24-hour file retention; verify the current terms for your plan. Jobs that need webhooks or one of the listed output formats, including PDF or animation.

How to choose for a URL list

Check how you submit and scale the list

“Bulk” is not one standard interface. url2image describes uploaded lists and JSON input, with a 500-URL batch ceiling and a 2 MB upload limit. ScreenshotRun documents up to 100 URLs per request. ScreenshotNeo also supports 100 URLs per bulk call. Screenshot API returns a batch ID, while Website Screenshot API describes asynchronous processing and webhooks. If your list exceeds a documented cap, determine whether the vendor supports chunking, queues, or a larger account limit before building around it.

Decide how you need the results delivered

  • Downloadable archive: url2image describes a ZIP, manifest, and failed-render CSV when applicable; ScreenshotCenter describes ZIP download.
  • Tracked job: Screenshot API returns a batch ID; ask how to check status and retrieve completed files.
  • Webhook or cloud handoff: ScreenshotNeo supports asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks. Website Screenshot API describes webhooks, and AddScreenshots’ indexed reference describes cloud-storage delivery, but its page may be outdated.
  • Per-URL diagnostics: Make sure the service identifies failures at the URL level rather than only reporting that a batch completed. This matters for retrying partial failures without recapturing successful pages.

Match rendering and output to your pages

For JavaScript-heavy sites, verify that the service renders pages in a real browser and determine whether you can wait for a selector, a delay, or network idle. Check whether “full page” includes lazy-loaded images, whether you can set viewport or device dimensions, and which formats are supported. A PDF requirement is not interchangeable with a PNG; animation support may be distinct from a sequence of ordinary screenshots. Also test pages behind consent prompts, authentication, bot checks, or regional content rules using only access you are authorized to use.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Compare costs on successful output, not submitted URLs

A quota may count every requested URL even if some fail, while another service may exclude failed captures. Include retries, storage, and the time you spend handling partial batches in your estimate. Confirm whether a free allowance recurs monthly, whether unused prepaid credits expire, and how long output files remain available. A low price per attempted URL is less useful if results disappear before your pipeline downloads them.

Published pricing and retention examples

Prices and retention below are provider-published terms surfaced in the available pages; they can change. They are not independently verified, and the providers do not all describe equivalent plans.

Service Published price or allowance Retention or billing detail
ScreenshotNeo Free: 1,000 shots/month with no card. Starter: $5 for 3,000; Growth: $15 for 15,000; Pro: $39 for 60,000; Scale: $99 for 250,000; Business: $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free; all features are on every plan. Vendor says only clean shots are billed; bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing. Check current terms for output retention.
url2image $5 for 2,500 shots ($0.002 each); $20 for 15,000 ($0.0013 each); $75 for 75,000 ($0.001 each); $250 for 350,000 ($0.000714 each). Its product page also advertises 10 free screenshots per month. Documentation says credits do not expire and failed URLs are not charged; results remain for 14 days.
Website Screenshot API The documentation describes a free-plan allowance; a directly comparable paid price is not stated in the available material. A documentation example gives 24-hour file retention.
Other listed services Comparable prices or free allowances are not stated in the available material. Comparable retention or failed-capture billing terms are not stated in the available material.

On the published url2image packs, the listed per-shot price falls as pack size rises; the actual cost per usable image still depends on whether failed URLs are charged and whether the published terms remain current. For ScreenshotNeo, the free tier and paid plan amounts above are monthly plan allowances and prices; yearly billing changes the effective price by providing two months free.

Before you run a production batch

  1. Start with a representative sample. Include pages with JavaScript rendering, long load times, cookie prompts, and the output formats your workflow actually needs.
  2. Verify your list format and cap. Check whether the endpoint expects JSON, a text or CSV upload, or a file size limit; split requests to stay inside documented per-call limits.
  3. Record each URL’s outcome. Keep the submitted URL, job or batch ID, returned file location, status, and failure reason together so partial retries are possible.
  4. Download results promptly. Use the shortest published retention window as your operational deadline unless the vendor confirms a longer one for your account.
  5. Measure successful captures and billed units. Reconcile returned images with quota or credit use before estimating recurring cost.
  6. Retry selectively. Retry transient failures with a bounded backoff rather than resubmitting the entire list; avoid repeated attempts against access-denied or bot-protected pages unless you have permission and a supported route.

Common bulk-capture problems

The request is rejected or only part of the list is accepted

Likely causes include exceeding the endpoint’s URL cap, uploading a file above its size limit, or using a list encoding the endpoint does not accept. Validate the input format, split the list within documented limits, and check whether the service reports rejected URLs individually.

A job is accepted but no images are available yet

Some services queue background work. If the response supplies a batch ID, use the documented status or result mechanism rather than treating the initial acknowledgment as completion. For webhook workflows, confirm your endpoint can receive the callback and that you can verify its signature where supported.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Pages are blank, incomplete, or missing lazy images

Check whether the service waits for client-side rendering, whether the page needs a selector or delay before capture, and whether full-page mode triggers lazy loading. Compare a failed capture with a normal browser visit, then adjust the wait or viewport configuration where available.

Some URLs fail while the batch succeeds

A batch-level success may mean only that processing finished. Inspect per-URL statuses or the failed-render report, correct malformed or inaccessible URLs, then retry only those entries. A service’s failure billing policy should be confirmed separately from its API’s error response.

Images expire before downstream processing

Download or copy outputs to durable storage as soon as the job completes. url2image describes 14-day retention, while a Website Screenshot API documentation example gives 24 hours; these are vendor-published examples, not a guarantee for every plan or future date.

FAQ

Can I send a CSV instead of a JSON array?

url2image and ScreenshotCenter describe text or CSV upload options. Support is vendor-specific; confirm whether the API accepts that format directly or only the web interface does.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is there an independent performance winner?

No comparative benchmark or independently verified reliability measurement is established by the available information. Test the same representative URL set, output settings, retries, and result workflow across your candidates before making a performance-based choice.
