Possibly—but an ACT Fibernet plan’s advertised speed alone cannot confirm that your connection will sustain a stable 4K60 YouTube Live stream. YouTube recommends an encoder bitrate of 35 Mbps for AV1 or H.265, and 50 Mbps for H.264. Your actual upload speed needs to stay above the chosen bitrate with room for fluctuations and other network use.
How much upload speed does 4K60 YouTube Live need?
YouTube’s encoder guidance distinguishes between codecs at 4K/2160p and 60 frames per second. The recommended bitrate is the encoder’s target for the stream; it is not the same as the broadband plan’s advertised speed.

These are YouTube’s current published encoder settings, retrieved in 2026. The minimum figures are settings permitted in YouTube’s guidance, not evidence that a broadband connection operating at those rates will provide stable or recommended-quality 4K60 streaming. Check that your encoder and streaming hardware support your intended codec rather than assuming AV1 or H.265 is available.

What ACT Fibernet says—and what that proves
ACT’s live-streaming guidance lists 20 Mbps as the minimum upload speed for YouTube 4K/2160p at 60fps. That is below YouTube’s current recommended bitrate for both AV1/H.265 and H.264. ACT also gives a general recommendation of at least 100 Mbps upload for live streaming, without explaining how that broad recommendation relates to its resolution-specific figures. Treat ACT’s 20 Mbps figure as provider guidance, not as assurance of a stable stream at YouTube’s recommended 4K60 settings.
ACT’s Bengaluru broadband page lists Performance Pack tiers of 50, 100, 200, 400, 500 Mbps, and 1 Gbps, and says Bangalore Wi-Fi plans have equal upload and download speeds. That makes 4K60 plausible for some eligible Bengaluru subscribers, but these are city-specific plan details and a provider-published symmetry claim—not a measurement of your line. Availability and terms vary by location. Neither those figures nor an advertised plan tier establishes sustained upstream speed at a particular address.

Use ACT’s city-specific plan information to check the upload speed offered at your address. ACT’s directory points customers to city plan pages and its app or website for plan details and speed testing. Do not assume Bengaluru tiers or terms apply elsewhere.

How to check whether your ACT connection is stable enough
- Confirm the upload rate for your address. Check the plan details for your own city, not just the download speed shown in an advertisement. Compare its upload rate with the bitrate for your selected codec.
- Connect the streaming computer to the router by Ethernet. A Cat5e or Cat6 cable can make the local computer-to-router link more consistent than Wi-Fi. It cannot increase the upload capacity of the ACT connection itself.
- Test at the times you intend to stream. Run repeated upload tests, including during busy hours. Account for household uploads and connected devices; results can vary with connection type, router placement, distance, and network use.
- Leave headroom above the encoder bitrate. Do not set a 35 or 50 Mbps stream merely because a speed test briefly reaches that number. Other traffic and fluctuations can consume the margin a stable stream needs.
- Test the real setup on YouTube before going public. Use the actual resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, audio, and representative movement. Monitor YouTube’s stream-health indicators during a private or unlisted test. YouTube advises: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream. Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.” It also says: “We recommend running a speed test to test your upload bitrate.”
ACT’s own guidance identifies wired versus wireless connections, router placement and distance, and the number of connected devices as factors that affect available speed. A cable can address a weak local wireless link, but persistent shortfall or fluctuation may require reducing competing traffic or discussing the line with the ISP.

What to change if the stream is unstable
- Upload fluctuates near or below your bitrate: Reduce the encoder bitrate, resolution, or frame rate. For example, try 1440p60 or 1080p60, then repeat a representative test.
- Wi-Fi is the weak link: Test with Ethernet and reduce distance or obstacles between the router and computer if a wired connection is not practical.
- Other devices are uploading: Pause large uploads and backups during the test and stream, then check whether the connection becomes steadier.
- Speed tests look adequate but YouTube reports problems: Run a longer test at the actual streaming settings and times. A short speed test is not proof of sustained performance; compare the encoder’s output and YouTube’s stream-health feedback.
- The chosen codec is unavailable: Use a codec your encoder and hardware support, and set its matching bitrate target. At YouTube’s recommended 4K60 settings, H.264 requires more bitrate than AV1 or H.265.
A measured upload result comfortably above the selected bitrate, plus a healthy representative test stream, makes the connection a reasonable candidate. It still does not guarantee future performance at every time or under every household load.
