A loop setting repeats media; it does not itself start a live broadcast. You also need an eligible YouTube channel, a reliable upload connection, a compatible encoder, and the rights to every recording and visual you stream.
Before you start: check channel access and rights
Confirm that your channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restriction within the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable live streaming ahead of your planned broadcast. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Clear the specific music and visuals
Being devotional, traditional, or sung in Hindi does not automatically make a song free to broadcast. Check rights for both the musical work and the particular sound recording, as well as any artwork or video in your loop. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for necessary rights on the streamer, including rights involving artists, labels, publishers, and other participants.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party material. A license by itself may not prevent interruption: if a recording is managed through Content ID, its owner may also need to allowlist your channel. Confirm the live-broadcast scope, relevant territories, any archive or video-on-demand scope, and channel allowlisting with the rights owner before going live. See Copyright issues with live streams.

Choose how the songs will repeat
One video file
In OBS, create or select a scene, add a Media Source, and select your local video file. Enable the source’s Loop option so playback restarts when the file ends. OBS documents these controls in its Media Sources guide.
A playlist of local files
For multiple songs, add a VLC Video source, select the local files in the order you want, and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for this OBS source; OBS notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. Check the playlist order and let it run through a restart during testing.

These approaches loop files on the computer running OBS. They do not create the YouTube broadcast until you connect the encoder to a live stream and start sending video.
Set up YouTube Live Control Room and OBS
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Go Live. Create a stream or select an existing one. YouTube’s live stream settings guide explains stream management.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into OBS. Choose the encoder’s YouTube service or configure the server and key manually. Treat the key like a password: do not show it on screen or share it. Use a custom key only if you need the same workflow across broadcasts.
- Choose RTMPS where supported. YouTube supports RTMP/RTMPS and recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Confirm that the selected server and encoder use compatible settings.
- Configure the video output. Set 3840×2160 progressive at 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval. YouTube recommends keyframes every two seconds and does not support intervals longer than four seconds.
- Choose a supported codec and bitrate. YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 over RTMP/RTMPS. At 4K/60, target the recommended bitrate for your codec as shown below.
- Set audio and color for SDR. The YouTube guide lists AAC or MP3 audio, 128 Kbps stereo audio bitrate, and 44.1 kHz stereo. For SDR, it specifies Rec. 709 and 8-bit. Make sure the media output and encoder settings agree.
The values below are YouTube’s ingestion guidance, not a guarantee that viewers will receive 4K. YouTube transcodes live video for different devices and connection speeds; playback quality depends on the viewer’s setup too. See Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

H.264’s recommended upload rate is higher than AV1/H.265’s in this guidance. Select a codec your encoder supports reliably; codec choice alone does not determine a viewer’s playback quality. YouTube optimizes 4K streams for quality and normal latency, so the low-latency improvement is unavailable at 4K.

- Use a private or unlisted test. Start the encoder and confirm that YouTube receives the feed in the Live Control Room preview.
- Check picture, sound, and stream health. Listen for clipping, silence, or sync problems; inspect moving imagery and fine detail; and watch YouTube’s health indicator and messages. Test with material representative of the real broadcast. YouTube’s live streaming tips cover monitoring and test preparation.
- Verify the repeat point. Let the file or playlist reach its end and confirm that playback begins again as intended. A successful initial preview does not prove that a loop will restart correctly.
- Check sustained upload capacity. YouTube advises leaving 20% upload bandwidth headroom. The recommended 4K bitrate is the encoder’s outgoing video rate; allow additional room for audio and network variation. A speed-test result is not proof of stable sustained upload or successful real-time encoding.
- Start the scheduled public stream only after the checks pass. Confirm the sound, picture, connection, loop, and rights, then start the public broadcast using your planned stream setup.
YouTube’s streaming tips recommend testing and monitoring. Do not assume that a live setup will create an indefinite archive: archive availability and behavior depend on stream configuration and platform limits. YouTube’s Get started with live streaming guide describes platform basics.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Check that the stream URL and key were copied correctly, that the key belongs to the selected stream, and that the encoder is connected. If you exposed the key, replace it in YouTube and update OBS.
- The stream health indicator reports problems: Check for upload instability, encoder overload, and bitrate settings that exceed what your connection can sustain. Reduce output demands or improve the connection, then test again with headroom.
- Video stutters or drops frames: Confirm the encoder can sustain 3840×2160 at 60 fps while running the chosen codec. The cited guidance does not establish minimum PC parts or guarantee that a particular computer or internet plan is sufficient; assess actual encoder performance and sustained upload stability.
- The playlist does not repeat: Check that you used a VLC Video source for multiple files and enabled Loop Playlist. For a single Media Source, enable Loop. Confirm VLC is installed and matches OBS’s 64-bit or 32-bit architecture.
- Music is muted, blocked, or interrupted: Check the audio output and rights status. A license may not prevent a Content ID interruption; ask the owner whether the channel must be allowlisted and verify that permission covers live use in the relevant territory.
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification, restrictions in the last 90 days, and whether initial activation has completed. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
