What’s actually slowing this PC down?

On most Android phones, open the webpage and press Power + Volume Down at the same time. It saves a screenshot without installing an app. For a long page, Android’s built-in Capture more option requires Android 12 or later; Chrome also has a separate Long screenshot workflow. Neither method requires extra storage for an app, though the screenshot itself still uses space.
Take a regular screenshot
- Open the webpage and move to the content you want to capture.
- Press Power + Volume Down together. Google lists this as the standard Android method. Android screenshot instructions
- Open the screenshot preview if you need to crop or share it.
If the button combination does not work, hold the Power button and tap Screenshot if that option appears. Menus and button behavior differ by manufacturer and model; consult the phone maker’s instructions for your exact device if neither method is available.
Capture a long webpage
For a page that extends below the screen, use one of these routes. A scrolling capture may not be available on every screen, and the resulting image still takes storage.
Android system capture: Android 12 or later
- Take a screenshot with Power + Volume Down.
- Tap Capture more in the screenshot controls.
- Adjust the crop guides to include the part of the page you need, then save or share the result.
Google documents this feature for Android 12 and later, and says it works on most screens that allow scrolling—not every app or screen. If Capture more does not appear, the device’s Android version or the current screen may not support it. Android screenshot instructions

Chrome Long screenshot
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Tap More > Share… > Long screenshot.
- Adjust the crop handles and confirm. Chrome’s flow lets you share or save the resulting image.
This is a Chrome-specific route, not a feature guaranteed in every browser or on every older device. The cited Chrome instructions do not specify a universal minimum Android version. Screenshots are not allowed in Chrome Incognito; open the page in a regular tab instead. Chrome Long screenshot instructions · Chrome Incognito guidance
Find the saved screenshot
In Google Photos, look under Collections > On this device > Screenshots. If the phone does not have Photos, open its Gallery app and look for a Screenshots folder. Google notes that not having Photos may indicate an older Android version. Android screenshot instructions
A screenshot is different from a webpage or file downloaded in Chrome. Screenshots belong in the screenshot album or folder; downloaded files are found through Chrome’s Downloads screen.

Make room without deleting the wrong files
- Check Settings > Storage to see what is using space. The exact labels vary by Android version and manufacturer.
- Review files you no longer need before deleting them. Google’s Android storage guidance also describes reviewing files manually or copying them to a computer over USB; the phone and computer need a compatible connection. Android storage guidance
- If you use Files by Google, look for its Old screenshots cleanup card. It identifies screenshots created or received more than four weeks ago. Review the selected files before moving them to Trash. Files by Google screenshot cleanup
Google’s general Android performance guidance says a phone can start having issues when less than 10% of storage is free. That is a broad device warning, not a screenshot-specific threshold or a guarantee that a screenshot will fail below it. Android performance guidance
Do not assume your particular phone supports a microSD card, a specific USB connector, or external-drive access; those depend on the model. There is no need to install a screenshot app just to use the built-in methods above.
Troubleshoot common problems
- The button shortcut does nothing: Try holding Power and tapping Screenshot if offered. Otherwise, check the manufacturer’s instructions for the model; button behavior varies.
- There is no Capture more option: Android’s system scrolling capture is documented for Android 12 and later and only on most scrollable screens. Use Chrome’s Long screenshot option if it is available for the page, or capture the visible screen normally.
- Chrome does not offer Long screenshot: Confirm you are in Chrome and using a regular tab rather than Incognito. The feature is browser-specific, and availability on older devices is not universal.
- You cannot find the saved image: Check Photos > Collections > On this device > Screenshots, or use the phone’s Gallery app and its Screenshots folder.
- The phone is nearly full: Check Storage and review files before removing them. Avoid assuming that deleting one item will immediately free an identical amount of usable space.
Or skip the browser setup
If you are a developer who needs a webpage screenshot from an API rather than a file saved on the phone, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request option. For this older-phone task, it is optional; the built-in Android and Chrome steps above need no service.
