To capture a full webpage with Thumbalizr, use its page capture size: the API parameter is size=page. Thumbalizr’s demo lists full-page capture for Silver and higher tiers; its free membership is limited to screen-size captures. You can also enter a page URL in the demo, but the official materials do not establish a complete sequence of current interface clicks.
Choose full-page capture, not screen capture
A screen-size screenshot shows the browser’s visible area. A page-size screenshot extends beyond that viewport to capture the full page. Thumbalizr documents the API setting as size=page; its demo says full-page capture is available on Silver and higher tiers, while free membership is screen-size only. Check Thumbalizr’s current plan details before signing up, because access and plan terms can change.
For a one-off capture, enter the target URL in Thumbalizr’s demo and choose a supported plan and capture size. For repeatable or automated captures, use the API. Thumbalizr’s documentation recommends its newer Embed API for integration; avoid confusing its parameters with legacy API syntax.
Request a full-page capture through the API
Set the API’s capture-size parameter to page. The documentation’s parameter table names this setting size and lists page and screen as values. Although its example also mentions mode=page, use the current parameter name size when following the parameter table.

- Choose a plan that supports page-size captures. The demo identifies Silver and higher tiers as supporting full-page capture.
- Supply the target page URL and set
size=pagein the API request. - Encode query values correctly. In particular, URL-encode the target URL when placing it in a query parameter; otherwise characters within it may be interpreted as part of the API request.
- Set viewport dimensions or delay only if needed. The API documents browser width and height as viewport controls. A delay can be specified after page load, but the available values and defaults depend on the plan.
- Check the response status. Thumbalizr documents
QUEUED,OK, andFAILEDstatus values, plus an error header that can help explain a failure.
Use Thumbalizr’s current API documentation for the required authentication and request format: Thumbalizr API documentation. The documentation also describes the Embed API as the recommended integration path. The available source material does not establish a complete, current runnable request with authentication details, so do not copy legacy syntax or guess at missing parameters.
Adjust viewport and loading time when the capture needs it
Full-page capture controls how much of the document is included; viewport width and height control the browser dimensions used to render it. These are separate settings. A different viewport can change responsive layouts, so choose dimensions that match the presentation you need to capture.

Thumbalizr also documents a delay after page load. A delay may help when a page finishes loading its main document before rendering certain content, but the allowed delay and defaults vary by plan. The official documentation does not establish that a delay guarantees completion of every script, animation, or lazy-loaded element.
Troubleshoot a missing or failed capture
- The screenshot shows only the visible area: confirm that the request uses
size=page, notsize=screen, and that the account tier supports full-page capture. - The target URL is malformed: encode it as a query value and check that its characters have not been mistaken for API parameters.
- The capture is still processing: inspect the documented status header.
QUEUEDindicates a queued request; check again for completion rather than treating it as a finished image. - The request failed: check for the documented error header and verify the URL, request parameters, and plan limits. The available documentation does not specify a universal fix for every error value.
- The page looks different from the expected layout: review the configured browser width and height. Those values set the viewport and can affect responsive rendering.
- Some content is absent: check whether the page needs more time after load and whether the delay setting is available under the plan. A delay is not a guarantee that every page element will render.
