Thumbalizr’s documented screenshot outputs are JPG and PNG images, not PDFs. To make a PDF, download or open the screenshot image, then print it from Chrome and choose Save as PDF. Use Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
Convert a Thumbalizr screenshot to PDF
- Create the screenshot. Enter the website address in Thumbalizr and request a capture. The available capture size and whether it covers the full page depend on the service’s plan and options.
- Open the resulting image. Thumbalizr’s feature and API documentation describe image formats such as JPG and PNG, rather than a direct PDF download. Open the generated image in Chrome.
- Open the print dialog. Select File → Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux and Command+P on Mac.
- Choose the PDF destination. In the print dialog, select Save as PDF where that option is available, then save the file.
- Check the saved PDF. Open it and confirm that the image is legible and that the orientation, scaling, and margins suit your needs.
Google’s Chrome instructions cover printing an opened page, image, or file. The exact location and wording of the PDF destination can vary by operating system and browser setup. If Chrome does not show Save as PDF, check the operating system’s print dialog for a PDF destination.
Does Thumbalizr export screenshots directly as PDFs?
Thumbalizr’s reviewed feature and API pages document image output, including JPG and PNG, but do not document a direct PDF download. A Thumbalizr blog post mentions PDF exports as a capability planned for rollout during its transition to ScreenshotCenter. The post does not show a publication date or establish that the feature is now available, so check Thumbalizr’s current interface or a dated release notice before relying on direct PDF export.
Check the screenshot before converting it
Printing an image to PDF does not add page content that was missing from the screenshot. Thumbalizr’s free demo is described as watermarked, screen-sized rather than full-page, and fixed at a 1280×1024 browser size. Its feature page describes Silver as supporting full-page or screen captures at a fixed 1280×1024 browser size, with larger browser sizes and other options on Gold and Platinum. Plan allowances and prices can change, so confirm current details on Thumbalizr’s feature page.

- If the PDF contains only the visible portion of a long site, the source capture may have been screen-sized rather than full-page.
- If text or small interface details look fuzzy, check the original image dimensions and its legibility before printing.
- A paid screenshot plan may be relevant for options such as full-page capture, watermark removal, or repeated/API use; it is not required just to convert an image you already have to PDF.
