If you’re watching an ASMR playlist, turn off its repeat control. If you run an always-on ASMR live stream, change the video rotation in the workflow feeding YouTube; the viewer’s repeat button cannot change what your channel broadcasts. YouTube’s help pages reviewed do not document a native per-video cooldown for live streams, such as “don’t play this video again for six hours.”
First identify which kind of repeat you mean

A live broadcast is an outgoing feed, not a playlist setting on each viewer’s device. Turning off repeat in your player won’t stop the creator’s stream from showing the same source video again.
Stop an ASMR playlist from looping while you watch
On a computer
- Open the playlist and start playback.
- In the playlist box, click the loop control to turn playlist looping off. YouTube’s instructions distinguish looping a playlist from repeating a single video. YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists on YouTube – Computer.
- If one video keeps repeating while you expect the playlist to advance, check that the player is not set to repeat the current video.
On Android
Open the playlist controls and turn off playlist loop. YouTube also has a separate repeat-current-video state, so check that if the same ASMR track restarts instead of moving to the next item. The control labels and layout can change; follow the current instructions in YouTube Help for Android.
Reduce repeats in a creator-run live stream
For an always-on broadcast, arrange a longer source rotation in the encoder or the playlist workflow that feeds it. The official YouTube help pages reviewed describe stream setup and settings, but do not document a built-in live-stream rule for delaying an individual video’s next appearance. They also do not establish an ideal ASMR rotation length, so choose an order that suits your library and audience rather than relying on a purported universal interval.

- Build the rotation. Put the intended recordings in the sequence used by your playback or encoder workflow. Avoid adding the same file repeatedly unless that is intentional.
- Check the sequence before broadcasting. Start the source workflow and inspect the YouTube Live Control Room preview to confirm the expected video and order.
- Go live through the encoder. YouTube’s encoder setup uses a server URL and stream key. Enter them in the encoder workflow, and keep the stream key private. See YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Monitor the outgoing feed. Check both audio and video as the stream runs. For ASMR, listen for abrupt transitions, silence, clipping, or a source that restarts unexpectedly, as well as checking that the picture advances as planned. What YouTube settings do—and do not—change
YouTube Live Control Room settings cover matters such as stream keys and DVR, while reuse settings can help configure a new stream from existing settings. They are not documented as per-video cooldown controls for a creator’s rotation. Check YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings for current options.
Before you can broadcast
YouTube’s getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days; it also states a minimum age of 16. Eligibility and platform rules can change, so confirm the current requirements at Get started with live streaming. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume an uninterrupted archive for a longer stream.

Troubleshooting a live rotation
- The same clip returns sooner than expected: inspect the source sequence and remove unintended duplicates, then verify the order in the Live Control Room preview.
- The viewer’s playlist repeats one item: turn off repeat-current-video as well as playlist looping, if enabled.
- The preview is wrong or blank: check that the encoder is using the intended source and the correct YouTube server URL and stream key.
- The stream drops or audio changes unexpectedly: monitor the outgoing feed and inspect the encoder/source workflow; a repeat toggle in the viewer’s player will not repair a creator-side feed.
For ASMR, rotation is only one part of a dependable broadcast. Use recordings you have the right to stream and check YouTube’s copyright and monetization policies; permission to upload a track does not automatically establish that it qualifies for monetization or avoids a claim.
