Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Fix clipping at the earliest point in your audio chain: replay the loudest bowl strike or singing passage, watch the microphone or interface input meter, and lower that input’s gain if it clips. Then check the streaming software’s source, filters and output meters. A compressor or limiter can control peaks only after the input is clean; it cannot restore detail already lost to clipping.
Find where the clipping starts
Clipping is distortion caused when an audio stage is driven beyond its available digital level. A signal can overload at the microphone interface and remain distorted even if later meters look safe, or it can become overloaded farther downstream by gain or processing. The sources below do not identify the cause in any particular setup, so use the meters and a recording to isolate it.
- Reproduce the loudest expected sound. Strike the bowl firmly and include the strongest sustained singing you expect during the stream. Keep the microphone, bowl and performance position representative of the actual broadcast.
- Watch the microphone or interface input meter first. If it indicates clipping, reduce that input’s gain or level. On the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen, the gain ring turns red at 0 dBFS, its digital clipping point; this is documented behavior for that model generation, not a universal indicator for every interface. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen user guide
- Check meters at each later stage. In your streaming application, inspect the input/source meter, any filters or plugins, and the bus or master output. Multiple gain stages can add up. If the input remains clean but a later meter clips, adjust the gain or processing at that point rather than lowering the already-clean input unnecessarily.
- Make a local recording and compare it with the stream. If both sound distorted, investigate capture and processing. If the local recording sounds clean but the delivered stream does not, check encoder and stream-health information. YouTube transcodes live input into output formats for different devices and networks, but that fact alone does not establish transcoding as the cause of clipping. YouTube live encoder settings
Correct gain before adding peak control
Lower an overloaded input
If the first input meter clips, turn down the microphone or interface input gain until the loudest representative strike and singing passage no longer overload it. Repeat the test: a quieter passage alone is not enough to confirm the setting. An interface with visible input gain metering can make this easier if your current setup does not show input levels, but buying new hardware is optional.
Use compression or limiting only on clean input
Once the input is clean, a compressor or limiter may help control remaining peaks later in the chain. Focusrite’s DSP guide notes that compression can help prevent a signal from clipping or disappearing in a mix; it also explains that a slower attack lets more of a transient through, making clipping more likely. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen user guide A limiter cannot reconstruct waveform detail lost to clipping earlier in the chain. Aggressive dynamics processing may also change the natural ring of a bowl, so listen to the result rather than relying on meter movement alone.

- [XLR Mic Input] One XLR microphone input interface is set on the gaming audio mixer, which is great to up your audio quality with your XLR setup. The XLR mixer is a stepping stone to upgrade your live streaming. Audio mixer offered built-in 48V phantom power which opens up more choices for mics. Directly use it with your condenser microphone but do not solve added peripherals. (NOT available for USB mic)
- [Individual Channel Control] Gaming audio mixer for one mic recording with smooth volume slider fader take your streaming recording to a whole new level with full pleasure. Four independent channels set on the DJ mixer give audio volume of the MICROPHONE, LINE IN, HEADPHONE, and LINE OUT channels individual control. Configurable on the PC audio mixer instead of just operating on your game or streaming software.
- [Mute and Monitor] The front mute and monitor buttons but not at the back, make it easier to get the audio interface use. Ability to mute audio, the audio mixer for streaming prevents background noise from damaging your live broadcast. Real-time feedback between speaking and hearing will not distract your attention, which encourage you to speak more confidently. The sturdy-built control button allow you to operate freely and easily during live streaming.
- [Sound Effects] The computer sound mixer supports four pre-recorded customized button that can be recorded and activated at the press of button to post production. 6 kinds of voice changing modes change your output style. 12 auto tune changes the tone of your voice. The podcast mixer being able to add different and fun effects is a huge bonus for your streaming or game voice.
- [Controllable Vibrant RGB] RGB button on the audio mixer DJ meets different live streaming themes. Lights on the video mixer is vibrant but not harsh on your eyes. Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
Check live encoder audio settings
After gain staging is clean, confirm the encoder’s delivery settings match YouTube’s live guidance. YouTube lists AAC or MP3 audio, recommends 44.1 kHz for stereo or 48 kHz for 5.1 surround, and gives 128 kbps for stereo or 384 kbps for 5.1 surround. These settings concern delivery; they do not repair or prevent clipping that has already occurred earlier in the chain. YouTube live encoder settings
Test and monitor the continuous stream
- Make a test recording with bowl strikes and sustained singing at the loudest expected level.
- Listen to the local recording for distortion, then check the Live Control Room preview before going live.
- During the stream, monitor audio and stream health, especially after changing gain, filters or encoder settings.
- If clipping returns, repeat the meter-by-meter check instead of assuming the encoder or YouTube caused it.
