To capture an entire webpage with Urlbox on a Mac, install its command-line tool, sign in, then run urlbox screenshot with the --full-page and --output options. This saves one image of the page’s full scrollable height in your current Terminal folder.

Urlbox documents this workflow in its CLI Quickstart. In CI, the quickstart says to set URLBOX_API_SECRET instead of using interactive login.
Choose a full-page capture mode
Urlbox supports two full-page strategies. The default stitch mode scrolls the page, captures sections, and joins them into one image. Urlbox describes it as optimized for accuracy and the more reliable choice for most sites. Scrolling also helps trigger lazy-loaded content and establish the page’s final scrollable height. The native mode uses the browser’s native full-page screenshot functionality; it is faster, but Urlbox cautions it may be less accurate on some pages.
To request native mode through the API, set full_page_mode to native alongside full_page: true. The CLI quickstart documents --full-page; for additional CLI rendering flags and their supported syntax, see Urlbox CLI Rendering.

Use the Urlbox API instead
If you are integrating capture into an application rather than saving from an interactive Terminal session, send a render request with the page URL and full-page option. A minimal request configuration is:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
{"url":"https://example.com","full_page":true}For native mode, add "full_page_mode":"native". Urlbox’s API documentation covers full-page capture and the other render controls in its full-page and element captures guide and Render Options.
Adjust the capture when a page does not look right
Lazy-loaded sections are missing
Keep initial scrolling enabled. If the page needs more time for images or content to appear, increase scroll_delay. If it only loads content after frequent scroll events, reduce scroll_increment. Urlbox lists vendor defaults of 4096 pixels for the section height and scroll increment and 100 milliseconds for scroll delay; defaults may change, so check the current full-page documentation.

Fixed headers repeat or the image has seams
In stitch mode, Urlbox uses heuristics to identify fixed elements and capture them only once. Try freeze_fixed: false if that behavior causes a problem. To inspect section joins while diagnosing a seam, enable show_seams: true.
A cookie banner or popup covers the page
Urlbox recommends trying click_accept and hide_cookie_banners. Automated handling can vary by page, so inspect the resulting image to confirm the banner or popup was handled as intended.
The page is very tall or uses infinite scrolling
Use max_height to cap the final image height or max_sections to limit the number of stitched sections. Urlbox normally stops when it detects an infinite-scroll page; set allow_infinite: true only when you deliberately want to override that behavior, since such a page may not have a natural end.
You need the full horizontal width or a lower starting point
Combine full_width: true with full-page capture to include the page’s full scrollable width. Use scroll_to with a pixel offset or CSS selector when the capture should begin below the top of the page.

The image exceeds dimension limits
Urlbox documents maximum dimensions for JPEG and WebP and recommends PNG for full-page screenshots because PNG does not have the same stated image-dimension limitation. Check the current image-format limits in the Urlbox documentation before choosing a format for an unusually long page.

macOS screenshot shortcuts capture the visible screen, a selected region, or a window—not the entire scrollable contents of a webpage. Apple documents Shift–Command–3 for the screen, Shift–Command–4 for a selection, and Shift–Command–4 followed by Space for a window or menu. See Apple’s Mac screenshot instructions.
Safari’s File > Save As can save a Web Archive or Page Source. A Web Archive is useful for retaining page materials such as graphics and links, while Page Source saves HTML; neither is a single full-page screenshot image. Apple explains these choices in Save part or all of a webpage in Safari on Mac.

ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API with an MCP server for developers and AI agents. A single GET request can return an image or PDF; this cURL example saves a WebP:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com -o shot.webpSee the ScreenshotNeo documentation for request options. Cookie banners are accepted and removed along with known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server gives AI agents tools to take screenshots, get page information, and capture PDFs. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
