You cannot set the browser viewport width or height with a documented PagePeeker V2 thumbnail URL parameter. PagePeeker’s size option sets the dimensions of the returned thumbnail, not the webpage viewport. Premium full-page screenshots can be customized by page width and maximum captured height, but PagePeeker’s public documentation does not publish URL parameter names or syntax for those settings.
What PagePeeker’s URL options control
The documented V2 direct-link pattern is:
http://{entrypoint}.pagepeeker.com/v2/thumbs.php?size={size}&code={code}&refresh={refresh}&wait={wait}&url={url}
Use the entrypoint for your account type and URL-encode the target page URL. The code parameter is optional and should be kept server-side. For premium accounts, refresh=1 forces regeneration, while wait sets the maximum number of seconds to wait before returning an image or placeholder. These affect request and image behavior; the public API documentation does not describe them as viewport controls. Premium accounts may support other output sizes. None of these documented values sets the browser viewport used to render the source page. For example, PagePeeker’s demo URL, http://free.pagepeeker.com/v2/thumbs.php?size=x&url=bing.com, requests an x-size thumbnail; it is not an example of setting a custom viewport.
How to request a thumbnail with a documented URL
- Choose the correct PagePeeker entrypoint for your account.
- Select a supported output size such as
xorl. - URL-encode the target page URL and include it as the
urlvalue. - Add optional documented parameters only when needed:
code, or for premium accounts,refreshandwait.
For example, the official demo uses size=x with url=bing.com. Do not add guessed width or height parameters expecting them to alter the captured viewport; the public V2 API documentation does not define those controls.

How to request custom full-page capture dimensions
PagePeeker lists premium full-page screenshot customizations as “Page width and maximum height captured.” Its public full-page page does not provide a URL template or identify parameter names for those settings. PagePeeker full-page screenshots
If you need a particular capture width or maximum height, ask PagePeeker for the configuration syntax available to your account before building a direct-link URL. The published documentation does not establish a copy-paste query-string recipe for these custom dimensions.

Diagnosing a result that does not match expectations
- The thumbnail has the wrong pixel dimensions: Check the
sizevalue. It controls the output image size, and only the documented values (or additional premium sizes confirmed for your account) should be assumed valid. - The webpage appears rendered at an unexpected scale or layout: The documented thumbnail URL options do not specify the rendering viewport. Contact PagePeeker about premium full-page width and height configuration rather than guessing parameter names.
- You receive a placeholder: For premium requests, review the
waitsetting, which governs how long the API waits before returning an image or placeholder. It does not set viewport dimensions. - You want a fresh capture: Premium accounts can use
refresh=1to force regeneration. This is a refresh control, not a viewport option. - You need to inspect capture diagnostics: PagePeeker documents response headers for paid and unbranded accounts, including capture method, capture time, final URL, capture hash, timestamp, and error status. These can help diagnose a result but do not configure the viewport.
