Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. For a custom responsive width, use Chrome or Edge DevTools device mode. Use Screenshot.rocks’s presets when they fit, and choose the method based on whether you need a custom screen size or access to a page already open in your browser.
Choose the right size control
A viewport is the browser area in which a site lays out and displays its page. A canvas is the final image area. Changing the canvas dimensions changes the exported image size; it does not make the website render at a different responsive breakpoint.
| What you need | Use this | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| One of Screenshot.rocks’s documented desktop or mobile captures | Screenshot.rocks URL capture and its Mobile option | The capture’s documented desktop or phone-sized preset |
| A custom responsive viewport width, or a page available only in your browser session | Chrome or Edge DevTools device mode | The browser viewport used to render the page |
| A particular final image width and height | Screenshot.rocks editor’s W and H canvas controls | The exported image dimensions, not the page layout viewport |
Use Screenshot.rocks’s desktop or mobile preset
- Open the Screenshot.rocks website screenshot editor and enter the page URL.
- Leave Mobile unticked for the documented desktop capture, or tick it for the mobile capture. Screenshot.rocks documents desktop capture as 1440 × 800 at 2× density. Its mobile guide specifies a 375 × 812 point screen at 3× pixel density, producing a 1125 × 2436-pixel image.
- Capture the page. The online URL capture shows the first screen rather than the entire scrolling page.
The mobile guide describes the capture as loading the page as an iPhone would, with an iPhone browser identity so sites serve their mobile layout. This is a preset; it is not a field for entering any arbitrary viewport width.
Set a custom viewport width with DevTools
When you need to check a breakpoint that is not covered by Screenshot.rocks’s presets, use device mode in Chrome or Edge. The browser workflow also suits a page that requires your login or browser session.

- Built-In Mic: The built-in microphone lets others hear you clearly during video calls
- Easy Plug-And-Play: The Brio 101 works with most video calling platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet—no hassle; it just works
- Open the page in Chrome or Edge.
- Open DevTools and turn on device mode. In Chrome, use the device toolbar toggle in DevTools; in Edge, use the corresponding device emulation toggle.
- In the device toolbar’s Dimensions controls, enter the viewport width and, if needed, height. Choose or set a device pixel ratio if you want to control output sharpness.
- Reload the page after changing device mode if it has not reflowed. Confirm that the site’s responsive layout has updated at the width you entered.
- Capture the visible browser view using the browser’s screenshot or your preferred capture workflow.
Changing device dimensions lets the page respond to a custom browser viewport. It is distinct from setting W and H on Screenshot.rocks, which only changes the image canvas.
Set the exported image dimensions in Screenshot.rocks
If the page layout is already right and you only need a specific output size, use the editor’s W and H controls. Choose a preset or enter exact dimensions; the guide says each side can be set from 500 to 2300 pixels. The exported image matches the selected canvas dimensions.

- Compatible with Nintendo Switch 2’s new GameChat mode
- Crisp HD 720p/30 fps video calls with diagonal 55° field of view and auto light correction. Compatible with popular platforms including Skype and Zoom.
- The built-in noise-reducing mic makes sure your voice comes across clearly up to 1.5 meters away, even if you’re in busy surroundings.
- C270’s RightLight 2 feature adjusts to lighting conditions, producing brighter, contrasted images to help you look good in all your conference calls.
- The adjustable universal clip lets you attach the camera securely to your screen or laptop, or fold the clip and set the webcam on a shelf. You’re always ready for your next video call.
Use this for a presentation mockup or a fixed-size image—not to test how a website responds to a different browser width. A canvas can crop or frame content differently without changing the viewport that determined the site’s layout.
Limits and common problems
- The layout does not change when W or H changes: those fields set the output canvas, not the webpage viewport. Use DevTools device mode for a custom responsive width.
- The capture is not a full page: Screenshot.rocks’s online URL capture takes the first screen. Use a browser workflow if you need to inspect or capture content farther down the page.
- A mobile URL capture cannot open the page: the mobile capture cannot access pages behind a login, local pages such as localhost, or sites that block automated browsers. Open the page in your own browser and use device mode; Screenshot.rocks’s browser extension captures the visible part of the current tab.
- The site still looks like desktop after changing dimensions: reload after enabling or changing device mode, and verify the width shown in Dimensions. Some pages update their layout only after a reload.
Screenshot.rocks says images added by dropping, choosing, or pasting are processed in the browser. Its optional URL capture sends the URL to a server for rendering; the editor says inputs are not stored.
