Use an extension only if you need a format or long-page behavior the built-in tool does not provide. Microsoft notes that feature availability can vary by region and change over time. Capture and save a full webpage in Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge and go to the webpage you want to capture.
- Open Web capture by pressing Ctrl+Shift+S, or select Settings and more (…) > Web capture.
- Select Capture full page.
- Review the capture, then save it to your device.
For a partial screenshot, choose Capture area and select the region. Web capture can also let you copy or mark up a capture before saving it. Microsoft’s guide is dated January 2, 2024 and notes that features and functionality may change.
When an Edge extension is useful
Try an extension if you need a particular export format or want a documented option for exceptionally long pages. Check the current Edge Add-ons listing before installing: features and availability can change.

These descriptions do not establish that either extension is universally better, or that every extension has the same features. Choose based on the output you need and the listing’s current details.

If the screenshot is incomplete
- Wait for the page to finish loading. Dynamic content may not be ready when you start capture; retry after it appears.
- Capture a smaller area. If a particular embedded region is missing, use Capture area as a workaround.
- Try an extension only when its current listing fits the need. Users have reported full-page capture problems involving SharePoint and embedded or scrollable content in a Microsoft Tech Community discussion. Those reports are anecdotal, not an official compatibility guarantee or proof of current behavior. See the discussion.
