You can use OBS to send a continuous Tamil lofi broadcast to YouTube by building a scene with your music and visual, connecting OBS to a YouTube Live stream key, and choosing output settings your computer and upload connection can sustain. First confirm your channel can livestream, test the complete setup, and secure the rights to the music. OBS can reconnect after some interruptions, but neither OBS nor a home computer guarantees uninterrupted 24/7 service.
Before you set up OBS: check YouTube eligibility and music rights
Enable live streaming in advance
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so check eligibility before you begin configuring OBS. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions.
Use music you are entitled to stream
You need the rights required to stream and, if you want a replay, archive the music. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. It may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it if a match is unresolved. If you have a license for third-party music, YouTube advises asking the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license and allowlisting address different issues; a “royalty-free” label by itself does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming. YouTube says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends.
How to stream 24/7 Tamil lofi beats on YouTube with OBS
1. Install OBS and run its setup wizard
Install OBS Studio from the OBS Project website, then use Tools → Auto-Configuration Wizard to establish a starting configuration. The wizard considers what you want to do, your computer resources, and network conditions. Treat its result as a starting point, not evidence that your computer can encode continuously for 24 hours. OBS’s system requirements page cautions: “Having a compatible system does not guarantee that it is capable of streaming or recording using OBS Studio.” That page is dated August 25, 2021.

2. Build a scene with your visual and music
- In OBS, create a scene for the broadcast.
- Add an image or video source for the visual, and a media or audio source for the Tamil lofi music. OBS scenes can combine images, video, and other media sources.
- Play the scene and watch the Audio Mixer meters. Confirm that the intended music registers, is not muted, and is at a usable level.
- Check the visual in the preview. If you intend the scene to appear continuous, verify that any video source loops as expected and that playback does not end unexpectedly.
A mostly static visual and 30 fps can be reasonable starting choices to test for a music broadcast, but they are not YouTube requirements or a validated Tamil lofi preset. A 60 fps output can put more load on the computer, according to OBS’s overview.
3. Create or select a YouTube stream and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then create or select a stream in Live Control Room.
- Find the stream URL and stream key in YouTube’s encoder setup.
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Select YouTube if it is available in the service list, or enter the server URL supplied by YouTube and paste in the stream key.
- Keep the stream key private. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send a broadcast to your channel. If you suspect it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update OBS with the new key.
YouTube’s encoder workflow is documented at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder; OBS describes connecting a streaming service in its Studio overview.

4. Choose resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and audio settings
Use YouTube’s recommendations as a starting point, then test against your actual upload speed and computer performance. For H.264 at 30 fps, YouTube recommends these video bitrates:
| Output resolution | YouTube-recommended H.264 video bitrate at 30 fps |
|---|---|
| 1080p | 5 Mbps |
| 720p | 6 Mbps |
| 480p | 3 Mbps |
These are platform recommendations, not guaranteed settings for every connection. YouTube’s full table varies by codec, resolution, and frame rate. Check YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for the combination you plan to use. Run a speed test and leave enough upload capacity for a stable stream rather than choosing a bitrate solely because the connection briefly reaches it.

- PLUG IN AND HEAR SOUND IN SECONDS - USB Type-A connector with a 3.5mm stereo headphone output and a separate 3.5mm mono microphone input. No drivers, no software, no external power - the adapter is USB bus-powered and is recognized as a standard USB audio device.
- WORKS ON WINDOWS, MAC AND LINUX - Driverless on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8, Linux and Mac OSX, and compliant with the USB Audio Device Class 1.0 specification, so any system that supports class-compliant USB audio will see it. Select it as the sound output and input device after plugging it in.
- TWO JACKS, TWO JOBS - The green jack is stereo OUT for headphones or powered speakers; the pink jack is mono microphone IN for a 3.5mm mic. It does NOT support 4-pole headsets on a single combo plug, it does NOT power passive speakers, and it does NOT add surround sound - it is a stereo 2-channel adapter.
- FOR LAPTOPS AND DESKTOPS THAT NEED AN AUDIO PORT BACK - Adds a headphone and mic port to a laptop, desktop, or mini PC whose onboard jack has failed or was never there. Managed and work-issued computers can block new USB audio devices by policy - check with your IT department before ordering for a company machine.
- SABRENT SUPPORT AND WARRANTY - What is in the box: one USB audio sound adapter. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, extended to 2 years when you register within 90 days on the manufacturer's website.
- Rate control: use CBR.
- Keyframes: set a 2-second interval; YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds.
- Audio: use AAC or MP3.
- Ingest: use RTMPS, YouTube’s encrypted ingest option.
For a largely static music stream, test 30 fps before increasing frame rate. The best resolution and frame rate depend on the available encoder, sustained computer capacity, and upload connection; no single computer configuration is established as a validated 24/7 setup.
5. Test the complete broadcast before leaving it running
- Start a test stream with the actual scene, including both representative visuals and the music.
- Check the Audio Mixer and YouTube’s stream-health status. Confirm that the correct scene is being sent and that the audio is audible.
- Watch for dropped frames, interruptions, or encoding warnings. If the stream is unstable, lower the output resolution, frame rate, or bitrate and test again.
- In OBS, find automatic reconnect under Settings → Advanced, enable it, and deliberately test how your setup behaves after a brief interruption.
- Only rely on the broadcast for a continuous schedule after testing the computer, connection, scene playback, and recovery behavior under realistic conditions.
OBS’s recommendation to test before a first broadcast and its automatic reconnect option are useful safeguards, not a promise to recover from every power failure, operating-system problem, application crash, or network outage. A computer that meets OBS’s baseline requirements is not thereby guaranteed to stream successfully.

What 24/7 means for YouTube archives
YouTube’s encoder help states: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” This supports automatic archiving for streams shorter than 12 hours; it does not promise that one continuous 24-hour broadcast will be archived in full. If you need a replay, plan how to create and verify replay files separately rather than assuming the live stream will produce a complete archive. YouTube’s documented stream flow ends when you stop sending content from the encoder.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Computer and connection considerations
OBS requires a computer to run the software encoder. CPU needs vary with encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity, so OBS recommends using its Auto-Configuration Wizard instead of prescribing a universal processor or graphics card. For a mostly static lofi scene, a modest setup may be sufficient, but that is a possibility to test—not a published minimum or benchmark.

If your current machine fails a representative test, compare potential computers by supported hardware encoders, sustained performance at your chosen output, operating-system support, network connection, and expected reliability. Do not treat basic compatibility as a guarantee of continuous service. A stable power supply and internet connection also matter because OBS runs on the local computer and depends on that setup staying available.
Troubleshooting common OBS-to-YouTube problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube will not let the channel go live | The channel is not verified, has a recent restriction, or first-time activation is still processing. | Check YouTube live-stream eligibility and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. |
| OBS connects, but YouTube does not receive the stream | The stream key or server URL is wrong, or the selected YouTube stream does not match the key. | Copy the current URL and key from the selected Live Control Room stream and update Settings → Stream. Keep the key private. |
| Stream health is poor or frames are dropped | The bitrate exceeds stable upload capacity, or the computer cannot sustain the selected output. | Run a speed test, then reduce bitrate, resolution, or frame rate and repeat the full test. |
| The broadcast is silent | The source is muted, the wrong audio device or source is selected, or the media is not playing. | Check the media source and Audio Mixer meters; verify that the intended audio registers during the test. |
| YouTube interrupts or replaces the stream | A third-party match may have been detected, or the encoder stopped sending content. | Check music rights and YouTube’s copyright guidance. For licensed third-party music, ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. |
| The stream does not resume after an interruption | Automatic reconnect may be disabled or the underlying power, network, application, or operating-system problem persists. | Enable and test OBS automatic reconnect, then identify and resolve the underlying failure. Reconnection is not a guarantee against every outage. |
| A full-day replay is missing or incomplete | YouTube’s stated automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed single 24-hour archive. | Plan a separate recording and verify the resulting files if a replay is important. |
