APITemplate.io’s surfaced API documentation describes generating images and PDFs from templates populated with JSON data; it does not establish an endpoint for capturing an arbitrary live website URL from top to bottom. Its API reference also says v1 is no longer supported and recommends v2. The available documentation does not settle whether v2 supports URL-based screenshots, so don’t use a v1 example as a current screenshot recipe.
Can APITemplate.io capture a full-page website screenshot?
That capability is not established by the surfaced APITemplate.io API documentation. The documented workflow is for creating an image or PDF from a prepared template and JSON input—not for loading a live page URL and recording its rendered contents. See APITemplate.io’s API reference.
A template-generated graphic and a website screenshot solve different problems. A template produces a designed output from data you supply; a screenshot records what a browser renders on a web page. A full-page capture additionally needs to include content beyond the visible viewport, potentially including content that appears only after scrolling.
What APITemplate.io’s documented workflow does
The older API overview describes a POST request that identifies a template and supplies an X-API-KEY header. The resulting generated file is provided through a download URL. That is evidence of template rendering, not of arbitrary-URL website capture. The v1 flow should not be treated as a current working recipe because APITemplate’s reference marks v1 as no longer supported and recommends its v2 REST API. See the API reference and API overview.

How to check whether APITemplate.io v2 fits your need
- Open the current APITemplate.io v2 API reference.
- Look for an operation that accepts a live page URL as input and explicitly documents browser rendering or website screenshot capture.
- Check whether that operation documents full-page capture, rather than an image generated from a template.
- Confirm how it handles dynamic page content, authentication, and content that loads as the page scrolls before building your integration.
The available documentation cited here does not resolve whether v2 adds URL-based screenshot capture. Until the current v2 reference explicitly documents those capabilities, don’t assume template rendering can capture a live site or rely on an undocumented endpoint.
A documented URL-based full-page screenshot alternative
APIFreaks describes a Website Screenshot API that takes a URL and uses full_page=true to capture content beyond the viewport. Its page documents a possible route for URL-based full-page capture, but it is vendor documentation; current service terms and reliability have not been established here. Review its current documentation and terms before depending on it: APIFreaks Website Screenshot API.

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers indicate the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for AI agents, and the Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
