What you need before you start
- An HTMLCSStoImage API ID and API key. The service documents HTTP Basic authentication: use the ID as the username and the key as the password. - Your Hindi copy as Unicode text, plus a font family with Devanagari coverage. The API provides CSS and a
google_fontsoption, but its documentation does not identify a Hindi font as validated or guarantee script shaping. Check the font’s coverage and verify the rendered image. - A target card layout and dimensions. The example below uses 1200 × 630 pixels as an illustrative canvas, not a requirement or a platform-specific recommendation.
HTMLCSStoImage accepts HTML or a public page URL, with optional CSS. For a purpose-designed social card, send HTML and CSS. Build the card in HTML and CSS
Use real Hindi text in HTML rather than embedding the words in a screenshot. Give the card an explicit width and height, control the text block’s line length, and set a Devanagari-capable font with a sensible fallback. Replace Your Devanagari Font with a font you have confirmed covers the characters in your copy.

Generate the image with the HTMLCSStoImage API
Send a POST request to https://hcti.io/v1/image with Basic authentication and a JSON body. Include both viewport dimensions when setting either one. The example requests PNG output; the API also documents JPG, WebP, and PDF formats. The API guide documents the endpoint and response, and the parameters page covers output controls.

Adjust quality and output settings
- Viewport: set
viewport_widthandviewport_heighttogether to match the CSS canvas. The example’s 1200 × 630 dimensions are illustrative only. - Format: choose a documented output format such as PNG, JPG, WebP, or PDF. Select based on your destination and workflow; the documentation does not establish one universally best format for social platforms.
- Device scale: use the documented device-scale control when you need to change output resolution. Higher resolution can also increase file size, so compare the exported image against your intended use.
- Fonts: CSS can specify fonts, and the API documents a
google_fontsoption for loading Google Fonts. This is a way to load fonts, not confirmation that a specific font or Hindi shaping behavior is guaranteed.
Validate Hindi rendering before publishing
Do not assume that a successful API response means the Hindi typography is correct. Open the resulting image and inspect it at the size where viewers will see it.

Choose HTML or a page URL

Troubleshooting common problems
The request is rejected or authentication fails
Check that the request uses POST to https://hcti.io/v1/image, supplies the API ID as the Basic-auth username and the API key as the password, and sends a valid JSON body. Confirm that environment variables are populated in the shell running the command; do not paste the secret into public or client-side code. The vendor’s API instructions cover its authentication and request inputs.

The Hindi text appears as boxes or falls back to another font
Choose a font that includes the required Devanagari characters and ensure the font is loaded through CSS or the documented google_fonts option. Then generate and inspect another image. The documentation establishes font-loading controls, not a guaranteed Hindi font or shaping result.
Marks or conjuncts look wrong
Inspect the actual output rather than relying on the HTML preview alone. Try another Devanagari-capable font, simplify the text block, and check the new image for vowel-mark placement, conjunct joining, and clipping. The reviewed vendor documentation does not promise particular Hindi shaping behavior.
The card is cut off or its layout differs from the design
Make the CSS card dimensions match the requested viewport, set both viewport dimensions, and leave enough padding for the longest expected text. If you are rendering a URL rather than custom HTML, check how the existing page responds at that viewport; the URL input takes precedence over HTML when both are sent.

The output is too large or not sharp enough
Adjust the documented device-scale option and compare the resulting resolution and file size. Also select an appropriate documented format. The API describes device scale as affecting image resolution and file size; tune it against your actual publishing needs.
