Import a Dropbox video
Restream’s documented import flow is to open Video Storage, choose Dropbox, paste the video link, and import it. The link must be public or set to “Anyone with link”; private invited-only and password-protected links will not import. Supported formats are MP4, MOV, M4V, and MKV. Schedule a playlist, but do not expect it to repeat
Restream allows a playlist of up to 40 entries and 24 hours total. It starts as a scheduled playlist but does not loop after its run. Its separate prerecorded-event feature can loop one video up to 10 times, with a maximum 40-hour stream; that still does not create an indefinite playlist. Understand the continuous-stream caveat
Restream says it does not impose a stream-duration limit, but warns that server maintenance may restart streams that run continuously for more than 24 hours and suggests restarting every 24 hours. Restream also says YouTube archives only streams under 12 hours. These are separate operational concerns from the playlist’s 24-hour total and the single-video loop’s 40-hour cap. Check Restream’s stream-duration guidance and plan around archive behavior if keeping a YouTube replay matters.

How to choose a service for a Dropbox-to-YouTube workflow
OneStream Live is the best documented direct match found for a continuous broadcast that also involves Dropbox: its help page names both 24/7 YouTube streaming and Dropbox storage. The page says the 24/7 feature requires Enterprise, but does not establish every account’s import conditions, playlist limits, price, or reliability. - Does it repeat a playlist indefinitely, or only play it once or repeat one video a limited number of times?
- Can it import a Dropbox link, and must the link be public or accessible to “Anyone with link”?
- What are the current file-size, duration, item-count, resolution, and playlist-length limits?
- Does the stream recover automatically after a connection or ingest interruption, and does your computer need to remain on?
- Does the plan support YouTube specifically, and how does it handle YouTube’s archive behavior for streams lasting 12 hours or more?
- What plan is required, what does it cost at checkout, and are there relevant output-quality restrictions?
Restream plan and storage details to verify
Restream’s help pages list Premier at $39/month, Marathon at $79/month, and Media at $239/month; prices and plan details can change, so confirm them before purchase. Its playlist page lists Marathon with a 4-hour library and a 1080p maximum, and Media with a 12-hour library and a 4K maximum. Restream says paid-user uploads do not expire unless deleted, while free-user uploads are stored for 30 days. Its hosted storage is for queued videos, not a replacement for a hard drive or other backup. Keep an independent copy of original Dropbox files. See Restream’s video-storage explanation.

Only stream videos and audio you own or have permission to broadcast. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including other live broadcasts. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you to stop, or interrupt or terminate the stream if the material remains. A license alone may not prevent interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Review YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
