What’s actually slowing this PC down?

In Percy full-page screenshots, sticky or fixed headers are generally shown once—typically at the top—not repeated down the page. That documented behavior alone does not mean the header was clipped. If the header is visibly cropped where it should appear, or page content is missing, investigate overflow CSS and capture setup.
First, identify which Percy workflow you are using
Percy Web projects take full-page screenshots by default. With Percy and Automate, enable full-page capture using the documented fullPage option. These are web screenshot workflows; App Percy has a separate mobile-app capture process and its settings should not be applied here. See BrowserStack’s full-page screenshot documentation.
What Percy does with sticky headers
BrowserStack documents that “Percy stabilizes sticky elements by displaying them only once per screenshot.” A header appearing once, usually at the top, and not recurring farther down the image is therefore consistent with expected Percy behavior. It does not establish that the header was cut off. See Handle sticky elements.
A header cropped within its intended visible area, or content missing elsewhere on the page, is a different symptom. Check overflow clipping, internal scroll containers, readiness, and capture bounds.

Diagnose clipping and missing content
- Inspect overflow on the affected element and its ancestors. Find which element clips the page content, then reset only that element’s responsible CSS using Percy CSS. BrowserStack’s example is
.container { overflow: unset !important; }; do not assume your page uses that selector. See Screenshots do not capture the full page. - Check whether the page or an inner element scrolls. If content scrolls inside an internal container, make that container fully scrollable for Percy with Percy CSS. If one particular element makes the image incorrect, hiding it with Percy CSS is an option only when that matches the intended test. BrowserStack lists these remedies in its common-issues troubleshooting guide.
- Confirm that the page is ready before capture. Capture after page load. If lazy-loaded content is missing, scroll to the bottom before taking the screenshot. Pause animations, video, or carousels when they change the result, and account for popups that appear during capture. See the full-page capture guidance and dynamic-data guidance.
- Check the driver’s scroll position. BrowserStack’s troubleshooting guidance recommends scrolling the driver to the correct page location when full-page content is incorrect. This matters especially when the capture starts from an unexpected position.
- Compare the browser, viewport, and image length. Repeat the capture in the affected browser and viewport, and check whether the page is approaching Percy’s documented length limit.
Check full-page capture limits
BrowserStack’s Percy with Automate documentation states a desktop maximum of 10,000 pixels or 10 tiles, whichever is smaller, and a mobile maximum of 10 tiles. These are documented service limits; confirm the current documentation when configuring a workflow because product limits can change.
Cookie banners and other dynamic elements
Choose the cookie state that matches the test. If the intended screenshot is after consent, accept the banner before calling Percy capture; if the test concerns the pre-consent view, do not dismiss it. BrowserStack’s sticky-element guidance includes an example of accepting a cookie banner before capture. For repeatable results, handle other popups and dynamic page elements deliberately rather than relying on timing.
Or skip the browser setup
If your goal is simply to capture a page image rather than test Percy behavior, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request website screenshot API. Its cleanup can accept cookie or consent banners and remove supported consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. It also provides an MCP server with screenshot, page-info, and PDF tools for AI agents.
