To send a Zoom meeting to YouTube, enable meeting livestreaming in the Zoom web portal and use the YouTube destination if it is available. To broadcast the same meeting to YouTube and other services at once, use Zoom’s Live Streaming app: it supports up to three destinations simultaneously. A host must start the stream, and account settings may determine whether these options are available.

Choose the right Zoom streaming method

Method Destinations What setup involves Who starts it
Meeting livestreaming setting YouTube, if enabled for the account An account owner or administrator enables meeting livestreaming and allows YouTube. Use the YouTube option available in the meeting controls.
Zoom Live Streaming app Up to three services simultaneously, including YouTube; Facebook and Twitch are built-in options, while other services can use custom RTMP. Connect channels in advance, or enter the receiving service’s RTMP URL, stream key, and stream page URL for a custom destination. Only the meeting host can initiate the streams.

For YouTube alone, the direct meeting destination is the simpler route when enabled. If “multistream” means sending one meeting to YouTube and other platforms at the same time, the Live Streaming app is the documented Zoom option. Zoom’s moderation functionality in the app is supported for YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch, not custom RTMP destinations.

Enable YouTube livestreaming in Zoom

  1. Open the Zoom web portal. Go to the account’s Meeting settings.
  2. Find “Allow livestreaming of meetings.” Enable it and select YouTube among the permitted services.
  3. Check whether the setting is locked. Account owners or administrators control account-wide availability. If you cannot change a locked setting, ask your Zoom administrator to enable it.
  4. At the meeting, look for the YouTube streaming option in the host controls. The exact labels and controls can change, and the option may not appear if the account has not enabled it.

Multistream with the Zoom Live Streaming app

Prepare destinations before the meeting

  1. Connect and configure the intended channels in the Zoom Live Streaming app before the meeting; advance setup can avoid delays when the meeting is underway.
  2. Select YouTube and any other supported built-in destination. The app supports up to three simultaneous streaming services.
  3. For a service that is not offered as a built-in channel, choose the custom RTMP route and obtain the RTMP URL, stream key, and public stream-page URL from that service. Enter the values provided by the destination; do not guess or reuse credentials from another platform.

Start the streams during the meeting

  1. Start or join the meeting as its host.
  2. Open the Live Streaming app and initiate the configured streams. Participants may open the app, but Zoom specifies that only the host can start streams for the current meeting.
  3. Check the viewing pages on the destination platforms to confirm the broadcasts are appearing. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to that destination.

Check YouTube requirements separately

Zoom’s meeting-streaming settings establish how to enable a Zoom-side YouTube destination; they do not establish whether a particular YouTube channel is currently eligible or already enabled for live streaming, nor the current YouTube Studio navigation. Confirm channel eligibility and any YouTube-side setup in YouTube’s official help before the event. Do not assume that enabling the Zoom setting also resolves a YouTube channel restriction.

Troubleshoot common setup failures

  • YouTube is missing from Zoom settings: The account owner or administrator may not have enabled meeting livestreaming or allowed YouTube. Ask the administrator to check the account’s Meeting settings.
  • The livestream setting is locked: It is controlled at the account level. An administrator must change it if you do not have permission.
  • The app cannot start the stream: Confirm the person initiating it is the meeting host. Participants cannot initiate streams for the current meeting.
  • A custom destination does not receive video: Recheck the destination-provided RTMP URL and stream key, and confirm that the stream-page URL is correct. If the destination provides updated values, use those rather than old credentials.
  • One destination works but another does not: Verify each destination’s connection separately. Custom RTMP destinations do not have the app’s supported moderation functionality available for YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is for keeping a YouTube channel live with uploaded videos, not broadcasting a live Zoom meeting or sending one meeting to multiple platforms. If your goal is a continuous YouTube stream made from recordings or a playlist, upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running with your computer off; it supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Visit StreamNeo or start the free day.
