BrowserCat publishes its pricing in US dollars, not as an India-specific rupee price. Its free Hobby plan includes 1,000 credits per month; Business starts at $50 per month, with included credits you can select. The price you actually incur depends on how you use its browser APIs, and BrowserCat’s published pages do not establish INR billing, Indian tax treatment or a fixed India-local total.

BrowserCat pricing in India: published plans and credit packs

BrowserCat’s live pricing page, checked in 2026, lists the following USD prices. The page does not state a publication year, and these figures are vendor-listed prices rather than a third-party estimate. BrowserCat pricing.

Option Published price Included or additional credits
Hobby $0 per month 1,000 credits per month; $0.0025 per extra credit
Business $50 per month Included monthly credits are selectable; $0.00175 per extra credit
Credit pack $20 one time 10,000 credits
Credit pack $87.50 one time 50,000 credits
Credit pack $300 one time 200,000 credits

The pricing page says credit packs can be purchased with USDC on Base through Stripe. It does not state whether Indian accounts can use a particular local payment method.

How many credits does a screenshot use?

BrowserCat does not list a separate screenshot-only price. The credit charge depends on which API path a workflow uses:

  • A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
  • Utility API: one credit for each successful request. BrowserCat’s FAQ phrases this as, “For every 1 successful API request, you’re billed exactly 1 credit.” BrowserCat FAQ.
  • Websocket API: one credit per 30 seconds of active session, rounded up. BrowserCat states, “Every 30 seconds of activity is worth 1 credit.” BrowserCat pricing.

For Utility API use, estimate credits by counting successful requests. For Websocket use, estimate active session time in 30-second increments; a partial interval rounds up. A screenshot workflow that uses a browser session therefore cannot be costed from screenshot count alone without knowing session duration.

How to estimate your monthly BrowserCat cost

  1. Identify the API path. Count successful Utility API requests, or measure the active time of Websocket sessions.
  2. Convert usage to credits. Use one credit per successful Utility request, or one credit per 30 seconds of Websocket activity, rounded up.
  3. Compare credits with the plan allowance. Hobby includes 1,000 monthly credits. For Business, select an included monthly credit amount that fits the workload.
  4. Estimate overages separately. Hobby’s listed overage rate is $0.0025 per credit; Business lists $0.00175 per credit. Do not apply the Business rate to Hobby usage.
  5. Check the actual checkout total for India. The published prices are in USD; the reviewed official pages do not specify INR conversion, Indian taxes or foreign-exchange fees.

BrowserCat’s own general guidance is to choose a plan just above average costs when usage is consistent, and just below average usage when monthly demand varies considerably. That is a planning suggestion, not a guarantee that a particular plan will minimize an individual account’s bill.

Billing timing and spend limits

BrowserCat says the plan’s base fee is charged at the start of the month. Remaining overages are billed at month end, although BrowserCat may charge earlier once overage fees exceed the plan’s base fee. Its published default soft limit is equal to the monthly subscription amount, and its hard limit is twice that amount. For free plans, the listed defaults are $10 and $20. BrowserCat says it requests approval to raise a limit after the soft limit; requests are rejected at the hard limit if there is no approval. See the pricing page and FAQ for the vendor’s billing terms.

These controls matter operationally: reaching a hard limit can stop requests, rather than simply allowing usage to continue and adding charges. Review account limits and approval arrangements before relying on an API for a time-sensitive workflow.

Does BrowserCat charge in INR?

The official material reviewed publishes USD plan prices and describes credit packs purchased with USDC on Base through Stripe. It does not confirm INR-denominated pricing, Indian card billing, India-specific checkout eligibility, GST or other tax treatment, or foreign-exchange fees. Therefore, a rupee total cannot be stated reliably from the published price list alone. Confirm payment options and the final tax and currency breakdown in the account checkout or with BrowserCat before budgeting.

What India-based developers should know about browser location

BrowserCat documents a Playwright workflow that navigates to a page and captures a screenshot, and says its cloud browser can be used with Playwright, Puppeteer and CDP clients. Its configuration documentation says sessions currently run near the request and that explicit region routing is on its roadmap. This does not establish that sessions run in India or provide a latency guarantee for requests from India. See the quick start and configuration documentation.
