To create separate YouTube live streams for different video playlists, schedule a separate live event for each category or broadcast in YouTube Studio. A scheduled event creates its own watch page and settings; it does not automatically play the videos in a YouTube playlist. To make pre-recorded videos appear as a live program, send that program to the event through an encoder—or use a cloud service that loops uploaded videos.
Choose the setup that matches your goal

Schedule a separate YouTube live event for each category
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live to open Live Control Room.
- Open Manage, then select Schedule stream.
- Select Create new for a distinct event. Choose Reuse settings only if the previous event’s details are a useful starting point.
- Enter a title and description that identify the event’s content category. Set its date and time, audience, and privacy deliberately. YouTube offers public, private, and unlisted privacy settings.
- Repeat these steps for each separate category, playlist program, or broadcast date that needs its own event.
A scheduled event can appear as upcoming, and viewers may be able to select Notify me. Consider whether the event should be discoverable and promoted before choosing its privacy setting. YouTube’s current guidance is in Manage live stream settings.
Send a pre-recorded program to a scheduled event with an encoder
If the videos must play as a live broadcast, the encoder—not the event title or playlist selection—must send the video and audio program to YouTube. The exact controls depend on the encoder you use; YouTube’s guidance describes connecting an encoder, not configuring third-party playlist automation.

- Create or open the scheduled event in Live Control Room.
- In the encoder’s streaming settings, enter the stream URL and stream key shown by YouTube for the event. YouTube Help describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Treat the key as a credential: do not share or publish it.
- Configure the encoder’s media source or playback sequence to use the intended video program. Check that the correct category’s material is queued before sending the feed.
- Start the encoder feed and wait for its preview to appear in Live Control Room.
- When the preview is ready and the event details are correct, select Go live in Live Control Room.
- When the broadcast is finished, end it in the encoder and follow the event controls in Studio. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.

Keep events, media sources, and keys straight
If you run multiple programs from one production setup, keep a simple private mapping of category or playlist, scheduled event, encoder scene or media source, and stream key. This is an operational safeguard, not a YouTube feature. Before starting each broadcast, verify the event title, privacy, schedule, and encoder source together. Reusing settings can copy metadata, settings, and the stream key, so review event-specific details rather than assuming they changed automatically.

Hand viewers from one event to another
YouTube Live Redirect can send viewers to another live stream or Premiere after an event ends; it does not create a separate stream or play a playlist. YouTube’s eligibility guidance says the channel sending the redirect must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. A redirect to another channel requires that channel’s permission. Check How to use YouTube Live Redirect for current setup and eligibility details.
