You can’t currently set up UPI to receive YouTube Super Chat earnings in India. Google’s AdSense for YouTube payment-method table lists wire transfer for India; its UPI instructions are for paying Google Ads, not receiving creator earnings. To get paid, set up or link AdSense for YouTube and add the bank details shown in your account.
Why UPI does not work for YouTube creator payouts
YouTube creator earnings, including eligible earnings from Super Chat, are paid through AdSense for YouTube. Google’s India payment-method table lists wire transfer for AdSense for YouTube. Google’s separate UPI guidance concerns a different transaction: prepaying Google Ads. Google describes UPI as “a payment method that you can use to make prepayments” on its About payment methods for Google Ads help page. That is money paid to Google to fund advertising, not money Google pays to a creator.
Do not use the Google Ads UPI setup as a workaround for creator payouts. For your creator account, the available method is the one displayed in AdSense for YouTube. Google says a payment method that does not appear under Add payment method is unavailable in that country.

- Set up or link AdSense for YouTube in YouTube Studio. Use the account intended for your YouTube creator earnings. Google allows only one AdSense or AdSense for YouTube account under the same payee name, so do not create a duplicate. YouTube earnings are tracked in a dedicated YouTube payments account.
- Complete the account’s required information. Submit tax information when requested and follow the account prompts for identity and address verification. Verification requirements depend on the account and its thresholds.
- Wait until the payment-method selection threshold is met. The threshold for selecting a method depends on the reporting currency. Check the current requirement in your account or Google’s payment thresholds help page; do not assume an INR amount based on another currency.
- Add the method in AdSense for YouTube. Sign in and go to Payments → Payments info → Add payment method. Enter the bank information requested, choose whether to make it the primary method, and save. For a payment address in India, Google’s table lists wire transfer. Follow the exact fields and instructions shown in your account.
- Check payment status in the YouTube payments account. Its balance and payment threshold are separate from those of any other AdSense payments account you may have.

When YouTube earnings are paid
Google says finalized YouTube earnings are generally added to AdSense for YouTube between the 7th and 12th of the month after they are earned. A payment is generally issued between the 21st and 26th if the payments account meets its applicable threshold and required payment changes are completed by the 20th. Google says bank transfers may take up to seven working days after issue. These are Google’s stated payment-cycle dates, not a guarantee that every transfer arrives on a particular day. The payment threshold depends on the reporting currency, and each payments account must independently reach its threshold. Google’s India payment-method table establishes wire transfer availability, but does not by itself establish an INR threshold amount. Check the current threshold shown for your account rather than relying on a figure for another currency.
Super Chat eligibility is separate from payout setup
Being able to receive creator earnings does not by itself mean you can offer Super Chat. Google lists conditions for Super Chat and Super Stickers that include being at least 18, living in a region where the features are available, and accepting the applicable Commerce Product Module or, where relevant, its former addendum. These are feature eligibility requirements; the payout method is configured separately through AdSense for YouTube. Check Google’s current Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility information.
