To stop duplicate Super Chat alerts, trace every place the alert can appear and remove the extra rendering path: close extra alert pop-outs, check all scenes for duplicate alert widgets or Browser Sources, verify which YouTube account and alert integration you are using, then test the remaining source. If you use Streamlabs with OBS, also enable Shutdown when not active in the relevant Browser Source properties. These checks address common duplicate-rendering paths; they do not establish a universal fix for every alert or 24/7 reconnect issue.
First determine what is actually duplicated
A Super Chat appearing twice in the broadcast does not by itself show that YouTube generated two events. It could be one event rendered by two alert sources, an alert echoing in the streaming setup, or two genuine Super Chats. Compare the YouTube chat or event record with the stream output before treating the two appearances as one duplicated event. The official guidance reviewed here explains troubleshooting duplicate rendering and alert echo; it does not establish a universal YouTube replay mechanism for Super Chats.
OBS Studio does not provide alerts directly. Third-party alerts are typically displayed in OBS through a Browser Source, so the provider widget and the source or sources that display it are both part of the alert path. OBS Project’s stream-alert guidance describes this distinction.
Remove extra alert renderers
Close additional alert windows
On the streaming computer, close extra alert pop-outs or provider preview windows. Streamlabs lists additional pop-out windows as a possible source of alert echo in its alert-echo troubleshooting guide.

Inspect every scene used by the broadcast
In OBS, inspect the current scene and every other scene the continuous broadcast may switch to. Look for multiple Alert Box widgets or Browser Sources connected to the same alert service. A duplicate source in a scene that is not currently visible can still matter if the broadcast later switches to that scene.
- Open each scene used during the broadcast.
- Review the Sources list for Alert Box widgets and Browser Sources connected to the alert provider.
- Open each relevant source’s properties and check its widget URL or integration so you can distinguish duplicates from intentionally separate alert setups.
- Keep the intended alert path and remove or disable the unintended duplicate source.
Streamlabs documents adding its Alert Box through Streamlabs Desktop, its OBS plugin, or a browser-source widget URL in other streaming software. These are distinct integration routes, not necessarily a single source. Its Alert Box setup guide explains the available paths.

Check the Streamlabs source type and account settings
Identify whether the alert is native or a Browser Source
If you use Streamlabs, first establish whether the alert in OBS comes from the Streamlabs Desktop or plugin Alert Box, or from a Browser Source widget URL. Streamlabs says event filtering applies to browser-source widget URLs; changing those filters does not alter Alert Box sources added through Streamlabs Desktop or the Streamlabs OBS plugin. Confirm the source type before relying on a filter setting. See Streamlabs’ event-filter guidance and setup instructions.
Verify the intended YouTube account
Check that the provider is configured for the YouTube account whose Super Chats you intend to show. If you have linked accounts, review whether one shared widget URL is receiving events from more than one account. Streamlabs documents that linked accounts can send events through one widget URL; multiple sources or accounts can therefore complicate diagnosis. Its widget guidance discusses linked accounts and widget behavior.

Apply Streamlabs’ OBS echo checks
Streamlabs defines alert echo as an alert repeating in the background on the computer or in the streaming software. For a Streamlabs Browser Source in OBS, use its documented checks:
- In OBS, open the relevant scene and right-click the Streamlabs Browser Source.
- Choose Properties.
- Enable Shutdown when not active.
- Repeat for every applicable Browser Source in every scene used by the broadcast.
- If the echo continues, remove the Browser Source and add it again using the provider’s current widget URL.
These are Streamlabs troubleshooting recommendations, not a guarantee that every duplicate alert—including one appearing after a 24/7 stream reconnect—has the same cause or will be resolved this way. For the exact current steps, consult the Streamlabs alert-echo guide.

Test the remaining alert path
After making changes, use the alert provider’s test function and watch the actual scene output. Streamlabs recommends testing its widget after setup. A provider test can confirm that the configured source displays an alert, but the reviewed guidance does not specify a 24/7 reconnect test protocol; it cannot prove behavior after every later reconnect.
- If the test appears once, check the scene output and source list for any remaining duplicate renderer.
- If the test does not appear, confirm the intended source is enabled, its widget URL or integration is correct, and the right account and event are selected.
- If the alert appears twice only in the broadcast, compare the YouTube event or chat record with the stream output to distinguish duplicate rendering from two real events.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping uploaded videos live as a 24/7 stream; it does not configure Super Chat alerts, so you will still need to fix the alert path in your streaming software. To use it, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It runs without a computer or home connection staying on, supports uploaded video as-is up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required. For Indian channels, UPI is supported.
