YouTube receives the broadcast; the encoder controls whether your playlist repeats. First confirm your channel can go live and that you have permission to rebroadcast every video.
Before you start
- Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
- Use an encoder that can play your Telugu video files or playlist continuously and stream to YouTube. YouTube lists OBS as an encoder that supports HLS output, but the repeat controls depend on the encoder and its version.
- Confirm that you own or have permission to livestream every song, video, image, and other element in the playlist. Channel eligibility does not grant content rights.
- Have a reliable upload connection and enough capacity for the selected resolution and bitrate. YouTube recommends testing the upload bitrate and encoder setup before starting.
Choose how the encoder sends the stream
YouTube supports different ingestion protocols. The choice is about how the encoder delivers the broadcast, not how the Telugu source playlist repeats. For most ordinary live content, YouTube recommends RTMPS, the encrypted form of RTMP. Use HLS if your encoder and broadcast requirements call for HLS; it has higher latency because it sends video in segments rather than as a continuous stream. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance and its HLS setup instructions.
| Protocol | When to choose it | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| RTMPS | The normal starting point when your encoder supports it. | YouTube recommends RTMPS for live streaming. Follow its current resolution-specific codec, bitrate, frame-rate, and keyframe guidance, and test your available upload capacity. |
| HLS | Your encoder or delivery needs require HLS output. | In Live Control Room, choose HLS and copy the HTTPS stream URL into the encoder. YouTube’s requirements include Transport Stream segments, HTTPS POST/PUT, segments of 1–4 seconds, and a rolling playlist with no more than 5 outstanding segments. HLS carries higher latency than RTMP-style continuous streaming. |
Do not confuse YouTube’s HLS media playlist with your Telugu playlist: the HLS playlist describes the segments of the encoded live signal. It does not decide which source videos play or whether they loop. The HLS technical guide explains the ingestion format.
Set up a continuous Telugu playlist
- Prepare the event. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create or prepare the broadcast. Select the ingestion protocol you intend to use. For a typical encoder workflow, choose RTMPS unless you have a reason and compatible encoder configuration for HLS.
- Choose and configure an encoder. Use software that can play your files or playlist as a media source and send its output to YouTube. YouTube documents OBS as supporting HLS output, but the exact playlist and repeat controls vary by encoder, operating system, and version; consult that encoder’s current documentation for its specific controls.
- Add the Telugu source videos in order. Add the files or playlist to the encoder, arrange the sequence, and enable the encoder’s repeat, loop, or equivalent playback option. YouTube’s setup documentation does not specify these encoder-side clicks, so verify the setting in the software you use.
- Check the loop before going live. Preview playback in the encoder and confirm it advances through the list, returns to the beginning, and does not leave a gap or stop. Listen across the loop boundary as well as watching the video.
- Connect the encoder to YouTube. Use the stream key and server or stream URL shown for the event in Live Control Room. Keep the key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a signal to the broadcast. For HLS, use the HLS stream URL and configuration specified by YouTube rather than assuming RTMPS settings apply.
- Set output settings for the chosen format. Match the encoder’s protocol, resolution, frame rate, codecs, bitrate, and keyframe interval to YouTube’s current recommendations for your target quality and upload capacity. There is no single bitrate that is right for every resolution and connection; consult the current encoder settings table and test before the broadcast.
- Run a test and inspect YouTube’s preview. Start the encoder and wait for the stream to appear in Live Control Room. Check picture, audio, and playback continuity before making the event public or beginning the intended broadcast. Use a private or unlisted test where appropriate.
- Start and monitor the broadcast. Once the preview is correct, start the event. Keep monitoring audio and video, particularly whether the playlist continues and whether audio remains present after each loop. YouTube’s live-streaming tips advise setting up ahead of time, checking the preview, and monitoring quality during the stream.
Settings that matter for a stable stream
Resolution, bitrate, and upload capacity
Choose a target resolution and frame rate that your source material, encoder, and sustained upload connection can support. Use YouTube’s current recommended bitrate for that output rather than copying a number intended for a different resolution. A speed test is only a snapshot; leave capacity for normal network variation and other devices using the connection.

When using an adapter, if the device is recognized as USB 2.0, try using the other side with the USB-C port. Simply flip the capture card and reconnect it to be recognized as USB 3.0
Keyframes, codecs, and audio
Use the codec, keyframe frequency, audio sample rate, and audio bitrate specified in YouTube’s current guidance for your selected protocol and output. The recommendations can differ with format and resolution, so check the linked settings page when configuring the encoder. Confirm that the audio source is enabled and that sound remains continuous at playlist transitions.
Stream key and protocol must match
Use the event’s current connection details in the encoder. A protocol mismatch—for example, configuring HLS output but using RTMPS connection instructions—can prevent YouTube from receiving the stream. If you regenerate or change event connection details, update the encoder to match.

Common problems and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive the encoder signal. | Wrong or outdated stream key, server URL, or protocol selection. | Compare the encoder connection settings with the current event details in Live Control Room. Make sure HLS and RTMPS settings have not been mixed. |
| The broadcast starts but stops at the end of a video or playlist. | Repeat is disabled or the source is not configured as a repeating playlist. | Check the encoder’s media-source or playlist repeat setting, then preview beyond the end of the list before starting the public broadcast. |
| The preview stutters, drops frames, or looks poor. | The chosen output may exceed encoder capacity or stable upload bandwidth, or its bitrate may not fit the selected format. | Test upload capacity, reduce output demands if needed, and choose settings from YouTube’s current recommendations for the target resolution. |
| There is silence or a gap when the playlist loops. | The encoder may not carry audio across the transition, or source files may have different audio behavior. | Listen through a full loop in the encoder preview and verify the intended audio source is enabled and continuous. |
| HLS has more delay than expected. | HLS uses video segments and has higher latency than RTMP-style continuous streaming. | Allow for HLS latency in your workflow, or choose RTMPS if it fits your encoder and broadcast needs. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you do not want a computer or home connection running for the whole broadcast, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist live on YouTube from the cloud. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting from a camera.
