The example below uses Playwright with Python. It is a practical batch workflow built from Playwright’s documented navigation and screenshot features, not a built-in bulk command.
What full-page PNG capture includes
A full-page screenshot captures the page’s scrollable content rather than only the portion visible in the browser viewport. Playwright’s Page API describes the fullPage option as taking a screenshot of “the full scrollable page, instead of the currently visible viewport.” A PNG filename selects PNG output. This records rendered pixels; it does not by itself establish that every delayed element, authenticated section, or third-party embed appeared. Nor does an image alone establish authenticity, chain of custody, or legal admissibility. Requirements for formal evidence depend on the review process and jurisdiction.
Prepare a URL list and output folder
Install Playwright for Python and its Chromium browser, then place one URL per line in urls.txt. From a terminal, run:

The script below keeps the input order, assigns each row a stable index, writes a distinct PNG filename even when URLs repeat, and creates a CSV manifest. Failed navigations are recorded rather than silently presented as successful captures.
Run a Python batch capture
Save this as capture_urls.py beside urls.txt, then run python capture_urls.py. The script uses Playwright’s Python API to navigate and save a full-page PNG; the URL loop and manifest are workflow code.

asyncio.run(main())The navigation timeout bounds the wait for the initial document event. It is not a guarantee that the intended content has finished rendering. Adapt the readiness condition for the site: for example, wait for a known selector that marks the content of interest, or deliberately wait for a known interaction or delay. No single load event or fixed sleep is guaranteed to cover every site’s dynamic content.

Use the official API shape in other languages
For a TypeScript/JavaScript workflow, the equivalent core capture is await page.goto(url); await page.screenshot({ path: outputPath, fullPage: true }); inside a loop. The Page API documents navigation and the fullPage screenshot option. Python’s documented form is await page.screenshot(path="page.png", full_page=True). Choose a .png path for PNG output. Make the output traceable
- Keep the original URL list unchanged and use a stable input-row index; repeated URLs should still produce separate files.
- Use a manifest that maps each input URL to its filename. Include capture time, browser/version, viewport or scale, and page-specific notes when those details matter to reviewers.
- Inspect the images and manifest for redirects, access prompts, navigation failures, and missing or incomplete content. A file being written successfully does not prove it contains the intended page state.
- Preserve the capture context required by your review procedure. Playwright documents screenshot output, not a legal or evidentiary retention standard.
Choose waits and settings for the page
The example uses domcontentloaded to avoid treating a long-running page-load event as a universal readiness signal. That event can occur before client-rendered sections, delayed content, animations, or lazy-loaded images are ready. Conversely, waiting for network idle may not suit pages with ongoing network activity. Choose a site-specific selector, explicit interaction, or bounded delay where needed, and check the resulting image.
Full-page capture concerns the scrollable page as rendered by the browser. It cannot make inaccessible authenticated content visible, guarantee third-party embeds loaded, or infer content that appears only after interaction. If the evidence question depends on those areas, provide the necessary session state and interactions, then verify the resulting capture directly.

Troubleshooting batch captures
The script stops or records a navigation failure
Check that the URL includes its scheme, such as https://, and that the host is reachable from the machine running the script. A timeout can indicate a slow or stalled navigation; increase the timeout only when the page genuinely needs more time, and retain the failure note rather than assuming the page was captured.
The PNG exists but important content is missing
Review the chosen readiness condition. Wait for a page-specific selector or perform the required interaction before capturing. For content that loads while scrolling, test whether the site requires scrolling or other behavior to trigger it; inspect the resulting full-page image rather than assuming all lazy content has loaded.
Several files seem to represent the same page
Check the manifest’s original URLs and input indices. Different URLs can redirect to the same destination, while duplicate input rows are intentionally retained as separate captures. Record the final URL when redirect behavior matters to your review.

Repeat captures look different
Rendering can vary with operating system, browser version and settings, hardware, and other environmental factors. Record the browser and relevant capture settings when comparisons matter, and do not assume pixel-identical results across environments. Playwright discusses this variability in its visual comparisons documentation.
