Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIf you need a free alternative to Happo, first check whether you need one: Happo currently offers a no-card, non-expiring free plan with 5,000 monthly snapshots in Chrome. For a self-managed option, Playwright can compare screenshots inside your tests; for hosted visual review, Percy lists 5,000 free screenshots per month. Those quotas count work differently, so estimate your own usage before switching.
Is Happo’s free plan enough?
Happo’s pricing page lists a free plan with no time limit and no credit-card requirement. It includes visual and accessibility testing and 5,000 snapshots per month in Chrome. Once the free account reaches its quota, Happo says it is paused until the next cycle or an upgrade. Check Happo’s current pricing and terms before making a decision.
Happo defines a snapshot as one screenshot of one component variant in one browser. Its own planning formula is component variants × browsers × Happo runs per month. For example, 50 component variants captured in three browsers across 100 runs would use 15,000 snapshots under that formula. This is a workload illustration, not a recommended testing frequency.
The 5,000 figure applies to Happo’s listed free plan and Chrome coverage; browser availability depends on plan. Happo also describes integrations with Storybook, Playwright, Cypress and a generic API, plus responsive viewport capture, CI integration, side-by-side review and image-diff controls. These are vendor-described capabilities; confirm that the current plan includes the browsers and workflow you need.

Which free Happo alternative fits your workflow?
| Option | Best fit | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| ScreenshotNeo | You need a screenshot API or an MCP server for AI-agent workflows. | It is a website screenshot service, not a like-for-like component visual-review dashboard. It offers 1,000 free shots per month without a card; see ScreenshotNeo. |
| Happo free | You want hosted visual review and your expected volume fits its free allowance. | 5,000 monthly snapshots, Chrome on free, and the pause behavior after quota. |
| Playwright screenshot comparisons | Playwright is already in your stack and you are willing to maintain baselines and review workflow. | Baseline storage, stable rendering, review experience, browser matrix and CI maintenance. The built-in comparison feature is not automatically equivalent to a hosted dashboard. |
| Percy free | You want hosted review and Percy’s framework integration fits your project. | Percy documents 5,000 monthly screenshots. Usage expands across page or component, browser and responsive-width combinations. |
| Chromatic | You use a component-centric workflow and want to evaluate a dedicated hosted tool. | Verify current plan and pricing directly; current comparative plan details are not established here. |
These are different kinds of tools and usage units. Compare the work you capture and the review process you need, rather than treating every “5,000” quota as equivalent.
Use Playwright if you want to own the screenshot workflow
Playwright’s official visual comparisons documentation describes screenshot assertions against stored reference snapshots. This can suit a freelancer whose project already runs Playwright tests and who wants visual checks in that test suite. You will need to decide how reference images are stored, reviewed and updated, and how to keep rendering consistent in CI. The documented screenshot-comparison feature alone does not establish feature parity with a hosted visual-testing service.

Estimate capture volume before choosing
- List the pages or component variants that need visual checks.
- Count the browsers and responsive widths you intend to cover.
- Multiply those combinations by the number of test runs in a typical month.
- For hosted tools, apply the vendor’s own counting definition and compare the resulting usage with its quota.
For example, Happo’s unit is a component variant in one browser per snapshot. Percy says its screenshot usage varies with page or component, browser and responsive-width combinations. A project’s actual monthly consumption depends on its test matrix and run schedule.
Compare costs and India-specific terms carefully
Happo’s pricing page lists paid plans at $149 per month for 50,000 snapshots (Starter), $399 for 150,000 (Growth), and $749 for 300,000 (Pro), with paid overage stated as $0.006 per snapshot. These are vendor-listed USD prices, not India-localized quotes; taxes, exchange rates and checkout terms can affect what an Indian freelancer pays. Check the current pricing page and checkout rather than converting these figures into a rupee estimate.

Percy’s official plans and billing documentation states that its free plan includes 5,000 monthly screenshots, unlimited users and unlimited projects. The counted screenshot combination differs from Happo’s snapshot definition, so estimate your own workload before comparing quotas. The available product information does not establish India-specific billing, payment availability or regional latency for these services.

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for parameters and response details. Before capture, it accepts cookie or consent banners as a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, with verdict and billing information in response headers. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month, with no card required.

Make the choice by workload, not headline quota
- Stay with Happo if its free Chrome coverage and hosted review fit your volume.
- Use Playwright comparisons when keeping capture and baselines in your existing test workflow is worth the maintenance.
- Evaluate Percy if you want hosted review and have calculated usage using its browser and responsive-width combinations.
- Consider ScreenshotNeo when you specifically need website screenshots through an API or AI-agent MCP tools, rather than a hosted component visual-testing workflow.
