A Super Chat you chose to send is generally non-refundable under YouTube’s published policy, even if it was sent during a 24/7 stream. The stream’s duration does not create a special refund right. If you did not make the purchase, use YouTube’s separate unauthorized-charge reporting process.
Can you get a refund for a Super Chat?
YouTube states that “Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and YouTube Giving are voluntary, non-refundable payments.” Its published policy does not list a different rule for a 24/7 livestream. Ending the stream, missing a message, or deciding you no longer want the purchase does not by itself make a voluntary Super Chat refundable. Read YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Sticker policy.

If you did not make the charge
An unfamiliar charge is different from a voluntary purchase you want reversed. First identify the transaction and check whether a family member or friend with access to your account or payment method made it. If you confirm that you did not authorize the digital YouTube purchase, report it through YouTube’s unauthorized-charge process. YouTube’s current instructions say to report such a purchase within 120 days.
- Review the transaction details in your Google account or payment records so you can identify the charge.
- Ask family members or friends who may have access to the account or payment method whether they made the purchase.
- If nobody authorized it and you confirm it was not yours, follow YouTube’s unauthorized-charge reporting instructions and submit the report within the stated 120-day window.
This is a way to report an unauthorized transaction, not a guaranteed exception for a Super Chat you voluntarily sent. YouTube’s refund policy continues to describe voluntary Super Chats as non-refundable.

Check whether Google Play handled the payment
Some new Super Chat purchases made in the YouTube Android app are billed through Google Play. Check Google Payments to identify the billing route for your transaction; the route may help you find the charge, but it does not change YouTube’s stated refund rule for voluntary payments. YouTube’s purchase guidance also explains that moderated or removed Super Chats do not generate a refund.
What happens if the stream ends or the message is removed?
A 24/7 stream can still end before a Super Chat’s pin countdown finishes. YouTube says a creator may end the stream before the countdown ends, and removing a sent Super Chat does not generate a refund. The message’s display time and the stream’s duration therefore do not promise repayment. See YouTube’s guidance on Super Chat display and removal.
