To schedule recurring screenshots with ScreenshotAPI.net, open Query Builder, enter the page URL and capture options, select Schedule Screenshot, and choose a preset or custom cron expression. Manage the job later in Schedule Requests, where you can start, stop, delete it, or view its screenshots.

Set up a recurring screenshot in ScreenshotAPI.net

  1. Open Query Builder. In the ScreenshotAPI.net dashboard, enter the website URL you want to capture. Choose any required capture options, such as the output type or full-page capture.
  2. Select Schedule Screenshot. Choose a schedule preset or enter a custom cron expression.
  3. Save the recurring request. Find the job in the dashboard’s Schedule Requests tab.
  4. Manage the job as needed. Use the documented controls to start or stop the schedule, delete it, or view its screenshots. Download any images you need to keep before deleting the job: ScreenshotAPI.net says deletion permanently removes the related screenshots.

ScreenshotAPI.net describes the feature as capturing screenshots periodically according to a cron schedule. Its documentation lists hourly, daily, weekly, and custom intervals. The reviewed documentation does not establish the timezone used to run scheduled captures, so verify timezone behavior with the service before relying on a specific local clock time.

Choose a schedule with cron

A five-field cron expression lists values in this order: minute, hour, day of month, month, day of week. These examples are shown in ScreenshotAPI.net’s setup guidance:

Schedule Cron expression
At the start of every hour 0 * * * *
Daily at 09:00 0 9 * * *
Mondays at 08:00 0 8 * * 1
At 09:00 on the first day of each month 0 9 1 * *
Every 30 minutes from 09:00 through 17:00 on weekdays */30 9-17 * * 1-5

Match the interval to how often the page is likely to change: hourly captures may suit rapidly changing pages, while daily or weekly captures may be enough for slower-moving ones. Those are examples, not guarantees about a particular site’s update pattern. Since the reviewed guide does not say which timezone applies, confirm it before treating a cron time as local time.

Pause a schedule or keep its screenshots

  • Pause future runs: use Stop. ScreenshotAPI.net documents this as a way to stop the recurring job without deleting it.
  • Review existing captures: choose View Screenshots from the job controls.
  • Remove the job: choose Delete only after downloading screenshots you want to preserve. The documentation warns that deleting the job permanently removes its associated screenshots.

The reviewed pages do not specify how long screenshots are retained while a job remains active. Check the current service documentation for retention details if you need an archive.

When an external automation workflow makes more sense

A separate service at ScreenshotAPI.to describes an HTTP workflow in which a schedule, webhook, or event triggers a request, and the result can then be stored or sent to another step, such as email or Slack. Its guide names Zapier, n8n, Make, and Retool. This is documentation for ScreenshotAPI.to, not evidence that those integrations are available to ScreenshotAPI.net accounts; verify the product and domain before setting up that workflow.

Use ScreenshotAPI.net’s dashboard schedule when you want a recurring cron-based capture managed there. Consider an external HTTP workflow when your process needs an event or webhook trigger and downstream routing, but confirm the automation product’s actual connection to the screenshot service first.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. It includes an MCP server for AI agents, and the free plan provides 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.
