To stream a Stardew Valley replay playlist continuously on YouTube, send recorded gameplay to a YouTube Live broadcast through an encoder, then use the encoder’s playlist or loop controls to repeat the files. YouTube receives the encoder feed; its setup guidance does not document a universal YouTube-side playlist loop. For an unattended stream, a cloud service can run the uploaded videos without keeping your computer on.

Before you start

  • Use content you have rights to stream. ConcernedApe’s official policy says creators may play Stardew Valley in streams and videos and monetize them. That permission covers the game’s creator policy; it does not grant rights to other people’s recordings or music.
  • Check that your channel is eligible for live streaming. YouTube’s current guidance requires a verified channel, no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days, and a streamer aged 16 or older. First-time live enablement may take up to 24 hours. Check Live Control Room for your channel’s current status.
  • Choose where the playlist will run. A local encoder uses your computer and available source files throughout the broadcast. Cloud playout can keep the feed running without your home computer, but verify that any service you choose supports YouTube and has the playlist controls you need.
  • Decide how you will preserve the recording. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream over 12 hours may not be captured at all. Make a local recording if you need a dependable copy.

Set up a continuous Stardew Valley replay stream

1. Prepare the replay videos

Gather the gameplay recordings you own or have permission to use. Arrange them in the order you want viewers to see them, and check that their audio and video play correctly. If your playlist includes third-party music or other material, confirm you have the necessary rights for a live broadcast as well as for the original recording.

2. Enable YouTube Live and check eligibility

In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and check whether the channel can stream. Verify the channel if prompted and resolve any live-streaming restrictions shown there. If this is your first time enabling live streaming, allow up to 24 hours before planning to go live.

3. Create or schedule the broadcast

In Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream. YouTube’s encoder workflow supplies a server URL and a stream key. Copy both into the encoder you intend to use. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or include it in a screenshot. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.

4. Load the files into an encoder and enable looping

Add the recordings to the encoder’s playlist in the desired order, then turn on that encoder’s repeat or loop control. This repeat behavior belongs to the selected encoder or cloud playout service, not to a universal YouTube playlist setting. Controls vary by product and version; consult the current documentation for the software you use rather than relying on an assumed menu path.

YouTube’s encoder instructions explain how to send an encoder feed, but do not establish a specific encoder version or playlist-loop setting. Confirm that the selected tool will restart the playlist after its last file and keep sending a signal between transitions.

5. Preview and test the feed

Start the encoder and check the YouTube preview before making the broadcast public. Confirm the picture, game audio, stream health, and transitions between files. Watch the playlist reach its end and verify that it starts again. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring the stream; if you are recording a local backup, check that the recording is actually growing.

6. Go live and monitor it

Once the preview is correct, start the broadcast from the encoder or follow the start prompts in Live Control Room. Keep an eye on stream health and audio/video playback. A playlist that loops correctly in a test can still fail if the computer sleeps, the encoder closes, or the source files become unavailable.

7. End or archive the stream deliberately

If retaining a YouTube replay matters, do not assume a very long continuous broadcast will be archived. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived and warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Consider ending the event before 12 hours and starting another, and keep a local recording as a backup.

Copyright and monetization: what the permission covers

ConcernedApe’s policy, published May 7, 2021, states: “You can feel free to play Stardew Valley on your streams and videos and also to monetize those streams and videos.” This is the creator’s permission for Stardew Valley gameplay streams and videos, including monetization. It is not permission to rebroadcast someone else’s replay recording or unrelated copyrighted material.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and issue a warning; unresolved content can result in interruption or termination. If you have licensed third-party material, YouTube says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Local encoder or cloud playout?

Choice What stays available Best fit
Local encoder Your computer, encoder, and replay files need to remain available while the stream runs. You already have a suitable setup and want to operate the playlist locally.
Cloud playout The service runs uploaded files in the cloud; check its YouTube support and looping controls before relying on it. You want the stream to continue without leaving a computer running at home.

For either approach, test the complete playlist cycle before relying on it for a long broadcast. YouTube’s general computer streaming tips recommend testing and monitoring quality, and note that expensive equipment is not required to get started: YouTube live streaming tips.

Or let it run in the cloud

Troubleshoot common problems

You cannot start the broadcast

Check the channel’s verification and live-streaming status in Live Control Room. New live access can take up to 24 hours to enable, and YouTube’s current eligibility guidance includes the age and recent-restriction requirements noted above.

YouTube shows no incoming video

Check that the encoder is sending to the server URL shown for the broadcast and that the correct stream key is entered. Confirm the encoder is actually running and inspect the Live Control Room preview before going public.

The playlist stops instead of repeating

Check the chosen encoder or cloud service’s repeat setting and confirm it is configured to restart after the final file. Test a full cycle; YouTube itself does not provide a universal playlist-loop control for an incoming encoder feed.

The stream drops or shows a placeholder

Inspect stream health and check whether YouTube has reported a third-party content match. Remove or replace material you do not have rights to use; if you have a license, ask the rights owner about allowlisting your channel in Content ID. YouTube may interrupt or terminate a stream when a match remains unresolved.

The live replay is missing

Check the stream duration. YouTube warns that broadcasts longer than 12 hours may not be captured. For an important archive, record locally and consider ending the live event before it reaches 12 hours.
