To capture an entire webpage—not just the visible screen—with ScreenshotAPI.net, make a GET request to its v3 screenshot endpoint and set full_page=true. You can also use the vendor’s full-page screenshot tool without writing code. The examples below follow ScreenshotAPI.net’s published instructions; exact results depend on how the target page loads and renders.
Capture a full page with the web tool
- Open ScreenshotAPI.net’s full-page screenshot tool.
- Enter the webpage URL you want to capture.
- Choose a viewport preset—desktop, tablet, or mobile—and an output format: PNG, JPG, or WEBP.
- Run the capture and save the resulting image.
The viewport choice affects the page layout: a narrow mobile width may cause text and columns to wrap differently from a desktop capture. ScreenshotAPI.net describes PNG as lossless, JPG as smaller for photo-heavy pages, and WebP as an option balancing size and quality; these are the vendor’s recommendations, not independent format tests.
Capture a full page through the API
The documented endpoint is GET https://shot.screenshotapi.net/v3/screenshot. Supply your dashboard API token, the target URL, and full_page=true. The service’s published tool example uses PNG, a width of 1680, and a height of 867; adjust the format and viewport dimensions for your intended use.

Make long or dynamic pages more complete
Deferred images and other asynchronous content
A page may not load all of its content immediately. ScreenshotAPI.net documents lazy-loading and delay controls for pages with deferred content, animations, or infinite scrolling. Use the relevant controls described in its render documentation when content needs additional time to appear. A delay cannot guarantee that an infinite feed or every site-specific interaction will be captured, so check the resulting image for missing sections.
Consent banners and ads
The service’s help page documents no_cookie_banners=true and block_ads=true as options for handling consent banners and ads. Their effect can vary by page; inspect the capture rather than assuming every overlay will be removed.
Unusually tall pages and spreadsheets
For a spreadsheet or another very tall page, ScreenshotAPI.net’s help page recommends using an appropriate browser height together with full-page mode. Set the viewport height to suit the page, retain full_page=true, and verify that the output includes the rows or sections you need.

Choose dimensions and image format
- Width: Set it to the layout you want to preserve. Desktop, tablet, and mobile widths can produce substantially different responsive layouts.
- Height: Set an appropriate browser height, particularly for unusually tall content. Full-page mode is still the setting that requests the document beyond the visible viewport.
- Format: Use PNG when lossless output is important, JPG when a smaller file suits a photo-heavy page, or WebP when you want the vendor-described size-and-quality option.

Troubleshooting
- The result shows only the first screen: Confirm that the request includes
full_page=true. If the page is unusually tall, also use an appropriate browser height as the help page recommends. - Images or sections are missing: The page may load content lazily or asynchronously. Use the documented lazy-loading or delay controls, then inspect the output; completeness still depends on the target site.
- A consent banner or ad remains in the capture: Try
no_cookie_banners=trueorblock_ads=true, as appropriate. The documented effect can vary from page to page. - The request does not recognize the token: Check that you are using the API token from your ScreenshotAPI.net dashboard and passing it as the
tokenparameter. - The target URL behaves incorrectly in the request: URL-encode it when placing it in a query string. With cURL, use
--data-urlencodefor the URL parameter.
