For an always-on YouTube channel that plays podcast episodes in sequence, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer does not have to stay on. For playlist-style scheduling, Restream is the clearest documented fit in the available product guidance, but its documentation does not establish uninterrupted 24/7 operation or looping behavior. For individual episodes that should start at a set time, StreamYard documents an automatic prerecorded-stream workflow.

Those are different jobs. A scheduled episode is a broadcast with a start time; an always-on station needs a playlist or other playback system that keeps feeding YouTube. Choose based on which one you need.

Best options by use case

Option Best fit What the documentation establishes Important limitation
StreamNeo Keeping a YouTube channel live with uploaded episodes or a playlist Cloud playback loops uploaded videos and playlists; add a YouTube stream key once and go live. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos; it is not a live camera encoder.
Restream Playlist-style playback in a YouTube live event Its YouTube live-event workflow lists Playlist as a streaming mode, alongside Studio, RTMP, and Video File; it also describes scheduling prerecorded videos to stream live on YouTube. The cited product guidance does not establish continuous looping, queue limits, failover, uptime, or current plan eligibility.
StreamYard Individual prerecorded podcast episodes scheduled to start at a chosen time Its prerecorded-stream workflow can start a video at the selected time even if the account owner is offline. The cited guidance does not show a continuously running episode playlist. Its regular scheduled studio stream still requires the operator to enter the studio and click Go Live.
YouTube with an encoder Operators who want to control their own playback and playlist setup YouTube supports scheduling a live event and connecting encoder software or hardware with a stream URL and key. You must arrange and operate the encoder and playback workflow.

StreamNeo is #1 for a 24/7 YouTube feed: it runs from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives each account one free day without a card.

Choose between scheduled episodes and a continuous playlist

Use scheduled prerecorded broadcasts for separate episode premieres

If each episode needs its own date and start time, StreamYard’s prerecorded mode is designed for that pattern. Its help article says, “You can automatically stream pre-recorded videos with StreamYard!” The documentation says a scheduled video starts at the selected time whether or not the creator is online. This is useful for a podcast release calendar, but it is not evidence that the service can run one playlist continuously.

Use a playlist workflow for a station that should stay live

If the channel should move from one episode to the next without a new event each time, select a service and playback setup that explicitly supports playlist playback. Restream’s YouTube live-event workflow names Playlist as a mode, making it the clearest documented playlist match among these tools. Before relying on it for a 24/7 station, confirm looping, queue capacity, reconnect behavior, and plan eligibility with Restream: those details are not established by the cited guidance.

Use an encoder when you need to manage playback yourself

YouTube’s encoder workflow lets you schedule an event and send it video through an encoder using the event’s stream URL and key. You control how episodes are assembled and played, but must keep the encoder and its source content operating. YouTube recommends checking the event preview and monitoring stream quality.

How to schedule prerecorded podcast episodes with StreamYard

  1. Check the episode and plan limits. StreamYard’s prerecorded-stream help article documents a maximum advance scheduling window of 365 days. It lists video duration limits of 2 hours on Core, 4 hours on Advanced, and 8 hours on Team and StreamYard Business. It lists up to 5 simultaneously scheduled prerecorded streams on Core, 10 on Advanced, and unlimited on Team and StreamYard Business. These are the limits stated in an undated help article accessed in 2026; confirm current plan names and caps in your account before planning a release calendar.
  2. Choose prerecorded streaming, not a regular studio event. Select the prerecorded video workflow and the episode file. The regular scheduled studio workflow is different: it creates an event but still requires you to enter the studio and click Go Live.
  3. Select YouTube as the destination. Confirm that the connected YouTube channel is the intended channel and that you have permission to schedule its livestreams.
  4. Set the date and time. Choose the intended start time and verify the time zone shown in the scheduling flow. Check the episode duration against the limit for your plan.
  5. Schedule and verify the event. Confirm the scheduled listing in YouTube and StreamYard, then check that the title, description, visibility, and start time are correct. Do not assume that scheduling a series of separate episodes creates a continuously live playlist.
  6. Plan what viewers see between episodes. If the channel must remain live between scheduled broadcasts, use a playlist-capable or cloud-looping setup rather than treating individual scheduled events as an always-on feed.

How to use Restream for a YouTube playlist event

  1. Create a YouTube live event in Restream. In the event’s streaming-mode choices, select Playlist. Restream’s YouTube event documentation also lists Studio, RTMP, and Video File.
  2. Build and review the episode playlist. Confirm the episode order and the behavior after the last item. The cited documentation does not establish whether playlists loop automatically, so verify this directly in the current product before treating the event as continuous.
  3. Schedule the event and check its YouTube destination. Confirm the scheduled time and YouTube channel, then verify that the event appears as intended in YouTube.
  4. Run a practical end-to-end check. Preview the stream, test audio and video, and verify how the event behaves at the playlist boundary and if the connection drops. The available documentation does not establish queue limits or automatic recovery for this workflow.

Use YouTube’s encoder workflow when you want direct control

  1. Schedule the live event in YouTube Studio. Set the event details and visibility, then open its stream settings to obtain the stream URL and key. YouTube’s official encoder guide explains connecting encoder software or hardware to a scheduled event.
  2. Configure the playback source and encoder. Arrange your episode files and playlist in the encoder or playback system you have chosen. Configure it to send the feed to YouTube using the event’s stream URL and key; keep the key private.
  3. Start the encoder and check the preview. Confirm that the correct event receives the feed, then check audio and video before the public start. YouTube advises checking the preview and monitoring stream quality.
  4. Monitor the operation. An encoder-based feed depends on the playback source, encoder, and connection continuing to work. Decide who will respond to a stopped feed and how the playlist will proceed when an episode ends.
  5. Check the replay plan. YouTube says, “If your live stream is less than 12 hours, YouTube can automatically archive it for you.” A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep a separate recording or archive workflow if preserving the full broadcast matters.

Or let it run in the cloud

With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Your uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; there are no quality tiers or re-encoding. If YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo attempts automatic recovery. The first day is free with no card.

Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The same features apply on every plan; only the billing length changes. UPI and cards are available in India, and card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

Rights, replays, and operational checks

Clear rights for every episode and music bed

YouTube’s livestream terms state, “The Live Content must comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines.” They also make the creator responsible for having the necessary rights, including music licensing rights, for livestream content. Check each podcast episode, intro, outro, and background track before putting it into a live playlist; permission to publish a podcast recording does not necessarily establish rights for every music use in a livestream.

Do not rely on YouTube’s archive for a feed longer than 12 hours

YouTube’s archive guidance says a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If viewers need on-demand access to a complete episode or full broadcast, use a separate recording and archive process rather than assuming the live archive will preserve it.

Verify product limits before building a schedule

StreamYard’s duration and concurrent-schedule figures above come from its help article accessed in 2026 and may change. Restream’s cited playlist documentation identifies a mode, not its current plan availability or 24/7 reliability. Check the current account interface and run a full-duration test appropriate to your format before depending on a service for a regular broadcast.

Troubleshooting common scheduling problems

  • The episode does not start at the scheduled time: confirm the time zone, date, destination channel, event status, and that you selected prerecorded streaming. For a regular StreamYard studio event, the operator must enter the studio and click Go Live.
  • The episode is rejected or stops before completion: check the file duration against the plan’s documented cap and verify current plan limits. StreamYard’s cited article lists 2, 4, or 8 hours depending on plan.
  • The channel goes offline after one episode: a scheduled single-video event is not the same as a persistent playlist. Use a playlist workflow or cloud looping, and confirm the behavior after the last item.
  • The Restream playlist does not behave continuously: the documentation establishes a Playlist mode but not looping, queue limits, or reconnect behavior. Check those details in the current product and test the playlist boundary and interruptions before relying on it.
  • The broadcast is missing from YouTube’s archive: it may have exceeded 12 hours; YouTube warns that longer streams may not be captured. Keep a separate recording when replay is important.
  • A stream is blocked, claimed, or otherwise interrupted over content: review rights for the episode and all music, and check YouTube’s livestream terms and Community Guidelines.
