You can run a continuous Bhojpuri music broadcast by using OBS as the encoder and YouTube Live as the destination—but OBS and YouTube do not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 stream. First confirm your channel is eligible, clear the rights for every recording, and decide whether a continuous broadcast’s archive and DVR limitations suit your audience. Then configure OBS, connect it to a YouTube stream, and plan for monitoring and failures.
Before you start: eligibility and music rights
Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel and says there must not have been a live-stream restriction on the channel in the prior 90 days. Check eligibility before building the broadcast; an encoder such as OBS does not bypass YouTube’s account requirements.
Clear every recording for the intended use
Before streaming, establish that you have the necessary rights for each track in the playlist, for the territories where you intend to broadcast, for live transmission, and for any archive. Music rights can involve both the sound recording and the underlying composition, along with artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. A song being Bhojpuri, old, purchased, or playable in a consumer music service does not by itself establish permission for a YouTube livestream.
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can lead to a warning, a placeholder in the stream, interruption, or termination. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone does not necessarily prevent an automated interruption. If you use licensed catalogues, confirm the precise scope of the licence and ask the provider or rights holder about the allowlist process.

Set up OBS and connect it to YouTube
- Prepare your computer and connection. OBS’s published system requirements are a starting point, not a guarantee that a computer can stream reliably. Encoding choice, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity all affect the workload. OBS recommends beginning with its Auto-Configuration Wizard, then checking performance with your actual sources and settings.
- Run the OBS Auto-Configuration Wizard. Use the recommended configuration as a baseline. There is no single resolution, frame rate, or bitrate that can be promised to work for every machine, network, and Bhojpuri music source. Choose settings the computer and upload connection can sustain, and assess the resulting picture and audio before relying on them for a long broadcast.
- Create or select a YouTube live stream. In YouTube Studio, open the live-stream workflow and create or select the broadcast. YouTube provides a stream URL and stream key for encoder-based streaming.
- Enter the connection details in OBS. In OBS’s stream settings, select the YouTube service if available, then enter the stream URL and stream key supplied for the selected YouTube stream. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your stream. Do not publish it in a screenshot, chat, or public document.
- Build the program in OBS. Add the visual scene and audio sources that will accompany the music. Check playback, audio levels, scene changes, and what viewers will see if a source stops. Test the entire chain before making the broadcast public.
- Start the broadcast using the matching YouTube workflow. For a scheduled stream, check the preview in YouTube Live Control Room and use its Go live control when the workflow requires it. Starting the encoder in OBS and making the broadcast public in YouTube are not always the same action; confirm the stream is actually live in Live Control Room.
Plan for continuous operation
A 24/7 OBS stream depends on the computer, encoder, power, network connection, audio and video sources, and YouTube all continuing to work. Plan who will monitor the broadcast and how it will be restarted after a computer reboot, OBS crash, power loss, or internet interruption. A UPS for the computer and router can help with some power interruptions, but it cannot prevent software, internet, or platform failures.
Do not treat a successful test as proof that a stream will stay live indefinitely. Establish a practical monitoring and recovery routine, including who can safely restart the encoder and verify the stream in Live Control Room.

Choose between one long stream and shorter sessions
A single continuous stream is operationally simpler to schedule, but it has trade-offs for monitoring and replay. YouTube says streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR rewind can be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours. YouTube recommends keeping a local recording backup.
| Format | Operational consideration | Archive and DVR consideration |
|---|---|---|
| One continuous stream | One broadcast to monitor, but a failure or restart can interrupt the ongoing session. | Do not count on a complete YouTube archive or full DVR rewind for a stream exceeding 12 hours. Keep a local recording if you need a dependable copy. |
| Shorter scheduled streams | Requires more scheduling and session starts, but creates more opportunities to check the setup between broadcasts. | May better fit a replay plan than one very long session, but do not assume an archive or DVR feature is guaranteed for every stream. |
YouTube’s documentation does not prescribe one format as best. Choose based on how often you can monitor and restart the broadcast, whether viewers need rewind, and how important complete replays are.

Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a livestream: Confirm the channel is verified and has no live-stream restriction in the prior 90 days. An encoder does not remove YouTube’s eligibility requirements.
- YouTube does not receive the OBS stream: Check that OBS has the stream URL and key for the same stream selected in YouTube Studio. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube and update OBS with the new one.
- The computer struggles while streaming: Reduce the workload by revisiting the encoder, resolution, frame rate, or scene complexity. Run OBS’s Auto-Configuration Wizard as a starting point; compatible system requirements alone do not establish that the machine can handle your chosen stream.
- The scheduled broadcast is not public: Check the Live Control Room preview and use its Go live control if the scheduled workflow calls for it. Verify the broadcast status there rather than assuming that OBS being active means viewers can watch.
- The stream is interrupted after a copyright match: Review YouTube’s notice and resolve the rights issue with the relevant rights holder. If you have a licence, verify that it covers the exact recordings, territories, live use, and archive, and ask whether your channel needs to be allowlisted.
- A long stream has no complete replay or rewind: This can occur with streams exceeding 12 hours. Keep a local recording backup if a complete archive matters; do not promise that YouTube will capture or provide DVR for the whole session.
