Check that your channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no livestreaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Its guidance also says streamers must be at least 16. YouTube lists encoder streaming as one supported way to broadcast.
Check the channel’s livestream eligibility in YouTube Studio before preparing a long program. If live streaming is unavailable, resolve the channel’s verification or restriction issue before scheduling the broadcast.
Clear the music and recordings before you stream
You are responsible for having the rights needed to use all livestream content, including music rights. A devotional song’s age or religious subject does not automatically make a particular recording free to broadcast: the composition and the recording can have separate rights. Use only material for which your permission covers the intended YouTube livestream, and retain written licenses or permissions.

- Lower-risk sources: your own original music and recordings, public-domain works whose status you have checked, music from YouTube’s Audio Library, or third-party recordings with license terms that expressly cover your use.
- “Free” is not a rights clearance. Check the actual license, including livestream, territory, duration, attribution, and monetization conditions where applicable.
- Creator Music is not a livestream shortcut. YouTube’s stated Creator Music licensing and revenue-sharing uses exclude livestreams.
- Allowlisting may be necessary. YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content. Even a licensed track can be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Ask the rights owner about allowlisting when required.

Prepare a playlist or other repeatable program using only cleared songs and recordings. Configure the encoder to send that program to YouTube, and keep the device and internet connection operating for as long as you want to broadcast. A local encoder depends on that equipment and connection continuing to work.
Use a cloud service for an uploaded playlist
If your program is made from uploaded recordings and you do not want a computer at home to remain on, a cloud service can run the playlist and send it to YouTube. Set up, test, and start the YouTube broadcast
- Verify eligibility. Confirm the channel is verified and has had no livestream restriction in the preceding 90 days. Review YouTube’s getting-started requirements.
- Prepare the program. Assemble the cleared songs and visual material into the intended repeating sequence. Check that the full program, not just its first track, is covered by your rights.
- Create the live stream in YouTube Studio. Choose the encoder workflow and retrieve the stream key in the Live Control Room. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to stream to your channel.
- Configure the encoder. Enter the stream details and key using the encoder’s instructions, then start sending the feed. YouTube’s encoder guidance describes the supported workflow; exact controls vary by encoder.
- Check the preview before going public. Confirm that the intended video appears and that the audio is audible, clean, and synchronized. Verify that viewers can open the event from your channel or its watch page, including on a mobile device.
- Monitor the broadcast. Watch the Live Control Room and the actual viewer-facing stream for audio or video problems. YouTube recommends testing, checking the preview, confirming accessibility, and monitoring quality; these checks do not guarantee continuous uptime.
What “24/7” can and cannot promise
A repeating playlist describes the program, not a guarantee that the broadcast will never stop. YouTube’s official guidance cited here does not establish a maximum continuous livestream duration, guaranteed uptime, automatic restart behavior, or what happens to an archive after a 24/7 broadcast. Plan to monitor the stream and be prepared to restart it if it ends. Do not advertise uninterrupted operation as guaranteed.

Troubleshoot common problems
The channel cannot start a livestream
Check verification and whether the channel has a livestream restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube’s eligibility guidance lists both conditions; resolve any eligibility issue before trying the encoder again.
The stream preview is blank or has no sound
Confirm the encoder is sending the intended program to the correct stream key and that the audio is included in its output. Check the Live Control Room preview and the viewer-facing event before making the broadcast public.

A song causes a warning or interruption
YouTube may detect third-party content and warn, replace, interrupt, or terminate a live stream. Check that your permission covers the recording and livestream, and contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting if the licensed stream is still being interrupted.
The broadcast ends unexpectedly
Check the encoder, device, and network connection if you are running the stream locally, then inspect the Live Control Room for notices. YouTube’s reviewed guidance does not establish automatic restart or uninterrupted 24/7 behavior, so restart the stream when needed and recheck the preview.
