Use FFmpeg’s tpad video filter to add a black pause to each clip before joining them. If the clips have audio, pad each audio segment with silence using apad so the pause is silent too. Then concatenate the padded segments with FFmpeg’s concat filter. The example below inserts a two-second pause after each clip; it also pads the final clip, so adjust that part if you want a gap only between videos.
Insert a black pause and concatenate two clips
This example expects each input to contain one video stream and one audio stream. It re-encodes the filtered output; it is illustrative and has not been tested against your files.

The concat filter joins each video/audio pair in order and outputs one video stream and one audio stream. See the FFmpeg tpad reference and filter documentation.
Keep the final clip unpadded
The command above also adds a pause after the second, final clip. To add gaps only between clips, pad all clips except the last, then concatenate the padded segments followed by the unpadded final segment. For two clips, remove the padding filters from the second input and feed its original streams to concat:

If you want a visible pause but not silence, do not pad the audio; be aware that its timing and the concat output may not match the intended result without further audio handling.
Adapt the command to your files
Check streams first
The example uses the first video and audio streams from each input. Inspect the actual stream layout with ffprobe before running it, especially if a file has no audio or contains multiple audio tracks. The labels and concat inputs must match the streams you select.

Video-only inputs
For clips with no audio, remove the apad branches and concatenate video only. For two video streams, the final part of the filter graph becomes:
[v0][v1]concat=n=2:v=1:a=0[outv]Map only the video output with -map "[outv]". Do not leave audio labels or an audio output map in a video-only command.

Choose black or a held frame
For a black gap, use stop_mode=add with color=black. To hold the last frame instead, use stop_mode=clone; this repeats the final image rather than adding solid-color frames. The FFmpeg 8.1 tpad reference documents both modes. Confirm that your installed FFmpeg build supports the filter and options.
Choose the right concatenation method

The concat demuxer reads listed files one after another; it does not create the pause described here. Adding a gap requires constructing it in the media, as with the filter workflow above.

Looping and pauses are separate
-stream_loop -1 repeats an input indefinitely; it does not add a delay between repetitions. The pause comes from the filter graph, not from the loop option. Consult the FFmpeg command-line documentation for -stream_loop. If you are building a multi-video loop, ensure the padded sequence itself repeats in the order you intend.
