If you need website screenshots rather than general-purpose scraping, start with ScreenshotNeo, ScreenshotOne or Urlbox. ScreenshotNeo puts cookie-banner and popup cleanup, verdict-based billing and an AI-agent MCP server in the same API; ScreenshotOne publishes screenshot-focused plan details; Urlbox documents controls for full-page and element captures. If screenshots are one step in a wider browser-automation workflow, evaluate Browserless. Zenscrape is broader than a screenshot endpoint, so first check whether you rely on its scraping, rotating proxies or anti-bot handling before replacing it.

Which Zenscrape alternative fits your workload?

There is no universal replacement: the right choice depends on whether you need a clean image or PDF, a full-page or element capture, broader browser automation, or scraping and proxy capabilities. The services below are capability-based starting points, not a benchmark ranking. None was tested head-to-head for this guide.

Service Best starting point for What the available documentation establishes
ScreenshotNeo Developers who want screenshot capture with consent-banner cleanup, transparent verdict-based billing, or MCP access for AI agents. It offers a screenshot API and MCP server. It accepts cookie banners and removes 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; those steps can be disabled. Bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, with outcome information in response headers. Documentation.
ScreenshotOne A screenshot-first API with documented request methods and a published plan structure. Its getting-started guide documents GET and POST requests and HTTPS. Its pricing page listed 100 free monthly screenshots and paid tiers; check current terms and quota rules before choosing a plan. Pricing.
Urlbox Workflows that need documented full-page strategies, element capture, or scrolling and sticky-element controls. Its docs describe stitch mode, which prioritizes accuracy, and native mode, which prioritizes speed, plus selector captures, lazy-load scrolling, cookie-banner options, ad blocking and page-size controls. These options do not guarantee identical results on every target site.
Browserless Teams using screenshots as part of broader browser automation. Its screenshot endpoint is a POST to /screenshot. Documentation lists PNG, JPEG and WebP output, full-page capture, Puppeteer-style options, selectors, waits and request configuration. Its broader platform may be more than a basic thumbnail workflow needs. Browserless’s comparison guide is vendor-authored.
ShotAPI Worth investigating only if a basic format-oriented option is sufficient and its documentation confirms your requirements. A search-result description mentioned PNG, JPEG, WebP and PDF capture, but the site could not be opened to verify details. Treat those capabilities and any pricing as unconfirmed until checked directly.

Check whether you need a screenshot API or a scraping API

Zenscrape presents itself as a web-scraping API with headless browsing, rotating proxies and Cloudflare/CAPTCHA handling, alongside use cases such as crawling, ecommerce price data, reviews and sales leads. A screenshot API can replace only the part of that workflow it actually supports; do not assume it will replace scraping, proxy rotation or anti-bot handling. Review Zenscrape’s current product and plan details before migrating.

As displayed on Zenscrape’s site on October 3, 2026, its plan snapshot listed Free at $0/month with 1,000 searches; Small at $59.99/month for 250,000 credits and 10 concurrent requests; Medium at $99.99/month for 1,000,000 credits and 25 concurrent requests; Large at $249.99/month for 3,000,000 credits and 50 concurrent requests; and Professional at $349.99/month for 5,000,000 credits and 100 concurrent requests. The page also described annual-plan discounts, worldwide geotargeting and standard or premium proxies on paid tiers, with additional services on higher plans. These are vendor-listed commercial terms, not independently audited comparisons, and should be reconfirmed.

Compare the parts that determine whether a migration works

Rendering and capture behavior

  • Test representative JavaScript-rendered pages and decide how long or under what condition to wait before capture.
  • For full-page output, check lazy-loaded images, sticky elements, page height limits and whether the service stitches sections or uses native capture.
  • If you need only one component, confirm selector-based capture and how the service behaves when the selector is absent or delayed.
  • Verify the required output: PNG, JPEG or WebP for images, or PDF if the workflow needs a document.
  • Keep viewport dimensions, device settings, wait conditions and requested format consistent when comparing providers.

Access, throughput and billing

  • Check whether the target requires a particular region, proxy, cookie, authorization header, user agent or other request configuration.
  • Compare concurrency, throughput, quotas, overages and the billing treatment of failed captures; included monthly volume alone does not determine total cost.
  • Decide whether a synchronous response is enough or whether the workflow needs asynchronous jobs, webhooks, or an integration with browser automation.
  • Confirm authentication, parameter names and response behavior for your chosen API. The services are not drop-in interchangeable just because each can return a screenshot.

For a compact evaluation, use a small set of pages that includes a JavaScript-heavy target, a long page with lazy images, a page with consent or sticky content, and any specific viewport or output format your product requires. Record success or failure, visual completeness, latency and effective cost using each provider’s own billing rules. This is a comparison method, not a claim that those tests have been run here. The documented capture controls are described by Browserless, Urlbox and ScreenshotOne.

What ScreenshotOne’s published prices showed

ScreenshotOne’s pricing page, accessed October 3, 2026, listed the following commercial terms. Pricing, quotas, overages and request-per-minute limits can change; verify the live page before purchase.

ScreenshotOne plan Listed price and volume Qualification
Free 100 screenshots monthly Vendor-listed allowance on the page accessed October 3, 2026.
Basic $17/month for 2,000 screenshots Vendor-listed plan; overages and request-per-minute limits vary by tier.
Growth $79/month for 10,000 screenshots Vendor-listed plan; overages and request-per-minute limits vary by tier.
Scale $259/month for 50,000 screenshots Vendor-listed plan; overages and request-per-minute limits vary by tier.

These figures are not like-for-like value claims against Zenscrape: one vendor describes screenshots, while the other describes searches and credits for scraping. Compare the billable unit and the work included in each plan, not just the monthly price.

ScreenshotNeo’s one-request API returns a screenshot or PDF. For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of Stripe:

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for supported parameters and formats. Cookie banners are accepted and known consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets are removed before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts and failed loads are never billed; an MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots; and the Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, while paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
