If Indian-language text appears as boxes, blank spaces, or the wrong typeface in a PageCrawl.io screenshot, first determine whether the same text renders correctly in a regular browser. If it does, check whether the capture browser can fetch the font, whether the font covers the affected script and weight, and whether capture waits for font loading to finish. PageCrawl documents custom JavaScript actions, but its reviewed help pages do not describe a dedicated Indian-language font setting; availability of those actions depends on the capture workflow.
First find out whether the problem is the page or the capture
- Open the same page in a regular browser and inspect the exact text that looks wrong in the screenshot.
- If it fails there too, start with the site’s font CSS, font files, and browser network requests. If the regular browser looks right but PageCrawl’s screenshot does not, investigate differences in font access, capture timing, or capture mode. This comparison is a troubleshooting method, not a documented PageCrawl guarantee.
- Record the affected language or script and a short sample of the text. “Indian-language fonts” could mean Devanagari, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, or another script, and the diagnosis depends on the actual characters.
PageCrawl’s Help Center has general troubleshooting information, but its reviewed help index does not list a dedicated article for Indian-language fonts: PageCrawl.io Troubleshooting.
Check that the capture browser can retrieve the font
A CSS font-family name does not provide a font by itself. The page needs an accessible font source and a valid declaration that applies to the affected text. The browser must also be able to retrieve the font file. MDN explains how @font-face loads remote fonts and that cross-origin web fonts are subject to access controls; a font server may need to permit the requesting origin.
- In the regular browser, open Developer Tools and inspect the Network panel while reloading the page. Filter for font requests, then look for failed requests, blocked requests, or unexpected response statuses.
- Check the Console for font-loading or cross-origin errors.
- Verify that the stylesheet containing the font rule loaded and that the font URL is reachable without a login, expired token, or other restriction the capture browser cannot satisfy.
- If the font is hosted on another origin, configure that server to permit cross-origin use where required. See MDN’s guides to
@font-faceand cross-origin resource sharing.
Confirm the font covers the text and requested style
A successful font request still does not prove the file contains the required glyphs. Check the font file’s coverage for the actual script and characters, then compare the page’s CSS with the face that is declared.

- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
- Make sure the text’s computed
font-familyincludes the intended family and that a matching@font-faceis available. - Check that the face declares the weight and style the text requests. A page asking for a weight or italic style that is not provided may use a fallback face.
- If the CSS uses
unicode-range, confirm that the range includes the text’s actual code points. The range controls which characters are associated with a font resource, but a matching range alone does not prove the font file contains every needed glyph. See MDN’sunicode-rangereference. - Do not use a successful
document.fonts.load()call as proof of glyph coverage. MDN notes that the optional text argument filters faces by Unicode-range match; it does not check individual glyphs. See FontFaceSet.load().
Wait for fonts before PageCrawl captures the page
If the correct font eventually appears in a regular browser but is missing in the capture, the screenshot may be taken before used fonts settle. After navigation—and again after any action that changes text or styles—wait for the page’s used fonts before capture.
In a workflow that exposes PageCrawl custom JavaScript actions, an async action can wait with:

(async () => {
await document.fonts.ready;
})();
MDN says this promise fulfills when loading and layout operations for all used fonts are done: Document.fonts. It does not mean every declared but unused or optional face has loaded, and it cannot fix a missing glyph or inaccessible font file.
PageCrawl’s documentation says custom JavaScript actions run before tracked-element extraction, support asynchronous waits, and have a 30-second safety timeout. It does not establish that every screenshot workflow exposes the action or guarantees font readiness. Test it in the affected monitor and verify the resulting screenshot. See JavaScript Tracked Elements and Custom JavaScript Actions (last updated 19 August 2026).

If you control the website, fix the source configuration
- Serve the intended font from a URL that the capture browser can access.
- Permit cross-origin font access if the font is hosted on another origin and the browser requires it.
- Use a font file that includes the affected script’s glyphs; check any subset or
unicode-rangerules against the page’s actual text. - Declare the weights and styles the page actually uses, and apply the matching family to the affected text.
- Retest with the same text sample and PageCrawl capture setup. If the page changes its content or styling after load, ensure the capture waits for those changes and then for used fonts to settle.
What to send PageCrawl support if it still fails
Give support enough detail to distinguish a font problem from a capture-timing or access problem:
- The page URL and the PageCrawl monitor or check context.
- The exact language or script and a short sample of affected text.
- The font family, weight, and style the page intends to use.
- Whether the same text renders correctly in a regular browser.
- Any failed font request, relevant response detail, or Console error.
- Whether the capture workflow provides a custom JavaScript action and whether waiting for
document.fonts.readychanges the result.
The reviewed documentation does not establish which operating-system fonts PageCrawl’s internal browser has installed, so do not assume a particular system font is present.

If you need a screenshot through an API instead, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its clean-shot options accept cookie and consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. AI agents can use its MCP server tools, including take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf. These capabilities do not guarantee that a particular target page’s Indian-language font will render; check the returned screenshot.
