Leave the page at the zoom level that gives you the layout you want, use the browser’s full-page capture command, then check the saved image for clipping or shifted content. A full-page capture includes content beyond the visible viewport; a regular screenshot may not.
Capture a full webpage in Firefox
Firefox offers a quick built-in option as well as a Developer Tools route. Either can capture the page beyond the current viewport while your chosen page zoom is in effect.
Use Firefox’s built-in screenshot menu
- Right-click an empty area of the webpage, or press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Choose Take Screenshot.
- Select Save full page, not Save visible.
- Save the image or copy it as needed, then inspect the result.

Use Firefox Developer Tools
Firefox Developer Tools can also capture the entire page. If the screenshot button is missing, open Settings → Available Toolbox Buttons and enable Take a screenshot of the entire page. The screenshot command also supports --fullpage to include content outside the current window. See Mozilla’s Developer Tools screenshot documentation for the command details.

The same documentation describes --dpr, which changes device-pixel ratio: values above 1 produce zoomed-in images and values below 1 produce zoomed-out images. This is an output-scale control; it is not a requirement to change the webpage’s zoom.
Capture a full webpage in Microsoft Edge
- Open DevTools by pressing F12, or right-click the page and choose Inspect.
- If needed, open Device Emulation.
- In the Device Emulation pane, open More options and select Capture a full size screenshot.
- Inspect the saved image, especially content near the top and bottom of the page.
Edge’s Device Emulation documentation describes the full-size capture option. Edge also treats the rendered page’s zoom and DevTools’ zoom as separate controls, as explained in its DevTools overview. Changing DevTools zoom does not itself reset the page zoom.

Why zoom and full-page capture are different
Browser page zoom changes how the webpage is rendered. A full-page screenshot command determines whether the capture includes only the visible viewport or also the content beyond it. In Firefox and Edge, the documented full-page options are designed to include that off-screen content; the instructions reviewed do not require setting page zoom to 100% first.
The exact image dimensions and layout can vary with browser and capture method. The cited browser instructions do not promise identical output at every zoom level, so use the zoom that suits your task and verify the result rather than assuming it will match a 100% capture pixel for pixel.

Check the screenshot and fix common problems
- The image only shows what was on screen: You likely used a visible-area or ordinary viewport capture. In Firefox choose Save full page; in Edge DevTools choose Capture a full size screenshot.
- The page appears too large or small: In Firefox Developer Tools, check whether you changed
--dpr. That controls output scale separately from page zoom. - Edge’s controls look zoomed but the page is not: Page zoom and DevTools zoom are independent. Adjust the rendered page zoom if that is what you want to change; DevTools zoom alone does not reset it.
- Some content is missing or shifted: Inspect the top and bottom edges and any area that appears after scrolling. Interactive or dynamically loaded pages may not capture perfectly; the browser documentation does not guarantee flawless results for every webpage.
