There is no verified confirmation in the available official material that Old School RuneScape is adding Menaphos or that RuneFest 2026 announced a raft of new quests and content. Jagex’s official pages establish the event dates and earlier 2026 roadmap plans, but they do not confirm the keynote claim. Treat the Menaphos headline as unverified unless Jagex publishes a post-keynote recap or statement.
What is known about the Menaphos claim?
Jagex’s Old School RuneScape homepage showed late-September updates and a RuneFest preview when retrieved on October 3, 2026, but the captured page text did not include a Menaphos announcement. That omission does not prove the keynote contained no reveal; it means the retrieved official material does not substantiate the claim. Jagex’s Old School RuneScape homepage

Jagex had scheduled RuneFest 2026 for October 3–4 at Birmingham NEC and said the event would feature live reveals and developer sessions. That January announcement was published before the event, so it provides context—not confirmation of what the keynote said. Jagex’s RuneFest and RS25 announcement
What Old School RuneScape had already announced for 2026
Jagex’s January Winter Summit roadmap listed expanded Sailing content, the Grandmaster quest Blood Moon Rises, Raids IV, Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts, and the Brutus boss encounter. These were earlier roadmap announcements, not evidence of a RuneFest reveal. Jagex’s January 2026 Old School roadmap

A May Summer Campfire update gave Blood Moon Rises a June 30 release date and previewed further 2026 content, including a new island, quests, and a new endgame raid. Those plans likewise do not establish that Menaphos or any additional content was announced at the RuneFest keynote. Jagex’s May 2026 Summer Campfire recap

A dated post-keynote Jagex or Old School RuneScape recap, an official stream recording or transcript, or an attributable Jagex statement would establish whether Menaphos was announced and what the reveal actually includes. Until such a source confirms the claim, details such as release timing, quest prerequisites, activities, or approval status should not be treated as known.
