Nintendo has renewed trademarks associated with four older games: Metroid Prime: Federation Force, Blast Ball, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and Ever Oasis. The renewals maintain rights in those names; they do not confirm that Nintendo is developing a new game, port, remake or sequel.
Which game trademarks were renewed?
Nintendo Life reported on October 3, 2026, that the renewals involved these names and games:

What a trademark renewal does—and does not—mean
Nintendo Support defines trademarks as “the distinctive names, words, logos, designs and symbols used to distinguish a product of a particular manufacturer or source.” In practical terms, a trademark concerns identifying a product’s source. A renewal is therefore not evidence that a game is in active development or that a rerelease is planned. Nintendo Life describes renewals as part of the company’s regular intellectual-property operations and cautions that they do not guarantee an announcement or reveal. Although filings have sometimes preceded announcements in the past, that history does not establish that any of these four games is returning.
What has Nintendo announced?
The report concerns trademark renewals only. It does not announce a new product, port, remake or sequel for any of the named games. Players may hope to see one return, but the renewal news itself offers no confirmation of those plans.
