For truly uninterrupted playback, combine the clips into one video file with FFmpeg and upload that single video. FFmpeg can join local files, but it cannot set the transition timing between separate videos on YouTube. If you keep the clips as separate playlist entries, YouTube autoplay may continue playback, but its help pages do not promise gapless transitions.
Choose how the videos should play

For one continuous presentation, make one combined file before uploading. A YouTube playlist is still a sequence of separate uploads, so its transitions depend on YouTube’s player behavior.
Join compatible clips without re-encoding
Use the concat demuxer and stream copy when the input files have matching streams, codecs, and time bases, and you do not need filters. This avoids decoding and encoding, so it is generally fast and does not add generation loss. It is not suitable for every set of files.

Run FFmpeg from the folder containing the list and clips:

Inspect the output around every join, checking both audio and video. Do not assume that a successful command means every transition is clean.

The demuxer adjusts timestamps globally so each subsequent file begins where the previous one finishes. FFmpeg warns this can create gaps when audio and video streams do not have exactly the same length. Inaccurate stored durations can also cause artifacts. If a file’s duration metadata is inaccurate, the concat script’s duration directive can override it; verify the result rather than relying on the metadata alone. Normalize clips with the concat filter
If the sources differ in properties that prevent stream copying, or you need scaling, frame-rate conversion, or other filtering, use FFmpeg’s concat filter and re-encode. Filters require decoded frames, so they cannot be used with -c copy. FFmpeg’s FAQ recommends the concat filter when re-encoding is needed; the demuxer is the alternative when avoiding re-encoding and the format does not support file-level concatenation.

Set up the inputs and filter so the clips have compatible stream layouts and intended output properties, then encode the result. There is no safe universal filter command for arbitrary footage: the right settings depend on the clips’ video and audio streams and the output you need. Re-encoding takes longer and can affect quality, so use settings appropriate to the source and intended YouTube upload. Consult the FFmpeg concatenation FAQ and concat filter documentation for filter syntax and requirements.
Why separate playlist videos may still have a pause
YouTube’s autoplay setting plays another related video automatically after the current video ends. Its availability and behavior can differ by device, and playback can stop in documented circumstances, including inactivity limits on some connections or user actions. Autoplay controls whether another video plays; it does not set a precise, gapless transition between playlist items. See YouTube Help: Autoplay videos.

YouTube also provides a playlist loop control, which repeats the playlist. Looping changes what plays again, not the transition timing between separate uploads. The official playlist help does not promise zero-delay playback. See YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists.

- A gap or jump appears at a join: Check that the clips’ streams, codecs, and time bases are compatible. Inspect audio and video lengths and verify duration metadata; global timestamp adjustment can expose differences between stream lengths.
- Audio or video drifts or has artifacts: Inspect the output near each boundary. Incorrect duration information can affect timestamps; correct it with the concat script’s
durationdirective when appropriate, then regenerate and check the output. - The demuxer command fails or the output is unsuitable: Stream copy only works in compatible cases and does not allow filtering. Use the concat filter and re-encode when normalization or editing is required.
- A YouTube playlist pauses between clips: Check autoplay on the device being used, but recognize that this cannot guarantee gapless playback. Combine the clips into one upload when the transition must not depend on player behavior.
