To upload a large video over JioFiber, first check that it meets YouTube’s size, duration and account requirements; then judge the upload by measured, sustained upload speed—not your plan’s advertised download speed. Keep the connection stable, pause heavy use on other devices, and let a slow upload finish if it is still progressing. After the video is uploaded, add it to a playlist using the current controls in YouTube Studio.
Check that YouTube will accept the video
YouTube’s stated maximum is 256 GB or 12 hours, whichever limit is reached first. Accounts must be verified to upload videos longer than 15 minutes. For a desktop upload of a file larger than 20 GB, YouTube advises using an up-to-date browser. Check YouTube’s current upload limits and requirements before starting.

- If the video is longer than 15 minutes, verify the channel’s account before uploading.
- Make sure the file is below 256 GB and the video is no longer than 12 hours.
- For a desktop file above 20 GB, update your browser first.
These are YouTube upload limits, not JioFiber limits. JioFiber’s advertised speed does not establish the speed available at your home or the time your upload will take.
Estimate the upload using measured upload speed
Upload time depends on file size, available bandwidth, upload traffic, file format and quality. YouTube notes that 4K video takes longer to upload than 1080p, and that a slow or unstable internet connection is a common cause of slow uploads. Use the video’s actual file size and a measurement of your sustained upload speed; a plan’s download speed is not a substitute.

A rough theoretical minimum is:
Upload time in seconds ≈ file size in bits ÷ upload speed in bits per second
For example, convert the file size from bytes to bits by multiplying by eight, and convert measured Mbps to bits per second by multiplying by one million. The result is only a lower-bound estimate: speed can vary, and network overhead and YouTube processing add time. It is not a JioFiber guarantee.
TRAI says providers must disclose typical upload and download speeds in tariff offerings, and points consumers to the TRAI MySpeed app or portal for measurements. Compare a measurement taken during the upload—not just the plan’s headline figure. Jio’s plan page describes symmetrical upload and download speeds, but the speed and plan details depend on the selected plan and market; that claim cannot tell you what your individual connection is sustaining.

Improve stability before and during the upload
Reduce competing use
Jio says active Wi-Fi devices use bandwidth, and several devices running heavy applications at once can congest the connection. Pause large downloads, backups and other bandwidth-heavy activity, and disconnect or pause devices that do not need to be online during the upload.

If practical, connect the computer directly to the router with Ethernet and compare the result with Wi-Fi. A Cat 6 cable is one option, but a wired connection is a troubleshooting check—not a promise of higher subscribed speed. It can help determine whether Wi-Fi is contributing to instability.
Let progress continue
If the upload is slow but still moving, give it time rather than restarting. YouTube’s guidance is: “If you’re experiencing any of these issues, we recommend that you let your video finish uploading to YouTube.” See YouTube’s advice for a video stuck during upload.

Resume an interrupted upload
- Return to youtube.com/upload within 24 hours of the interruption.
- Select the same video file again. YouTube says this lets the upload continue from where it left off.
Keep the original file available and choose that same file when resuming. If more than 24 hours have passed, the documented continuation window has elapsed; start the upload again if YouTube does not offer a way to continue.
Reduce an oversized file without guessing at quality
If the file is above YouTube’s size limit, YouTube recommends compressing it in video-editing software with H.264 while maintaining suitable quality. Export a smaller version, then review the resulting picture and sound before uploading it. Compression may reduce quality, so do not assume a smaller file will look identical; choose settings that fit the content and check the export before replacing your original.

Uploading the video and placing it in a playlist are separate tasks. Once the upload has completed, open YouTube Studio and confirm the current playlist control for the video there. The exact desktop and mobile controls can change, so use the interface currently shown in Studio rather than relying on outdated click-by-click directions.

Check JioFiber data terms if uploads are frequent
Jio’s prepaid service terms cite 3300 GB in a 30-day recharge cycle as a threshold that may be treated as misuse of unlimited benefits on applicable plans. This is not a per-video upload limit, and it should not be generalized to every Jio plan. If you upload very large volumes repeatedly, check the terms attached to your own plan.
