What is CTB battery technology?
CTB stands for Cell-to-Body. Jackery describes CTB 2.0 as integrating battery cells directly into the power station’s outer structural chassis, rather than leaving them in a separate internal arrangement. The company says this reduces unused space and increases energy density. The approach resembles a packaging strategy used in electric vehicles, but the announcement does not provide independent engineering analysis or testing that verifies how much space the design saves.
Jackery announced the Explorer 1000 Plus v2 and Explorer 2000 Plus v2 at IFA Berlin on 4 September 2026. Its UK announcement was updated on 8 September 2026.
How much smaller and lighter is the Explorer 2000 Plus v2?
Jackery claims the 2,048Wh Explorer 2000 Plus v2 is 60% lower in volume and 33% lighter than the original Explorer 2000 Plus. The company lists the v2 at 36.6 × 25.5 × 27.2cm and 18.8kg. For comparison, Jackery lists the predecessor at 47.3 × 35.94 × 37.36cm and 27.9kg.

The two models are close in stated capacity, but their output ratings differ: do not apply the predecessor’s 3,000W figure to the v2. Jackery’s specifications provide a useful comparison, but they do not establish independent measurements of the v2 or independently confirm its claimed reductions.
What else does Jackery claim about the v2?
Jackery’s announcement lists the Explorer 2000 Plus v2 with 2,400W continuous AC output and 4,800W surge output. It has three AC outlets, two USB-C ports rated up to 140W, one 18W USB-A port and a 12V/10A car port. Jackery says capacity can be expanded from 2,048Wh to as much as 12kWh.

These are manufacturer claims from the launch announcement; independent v2 testing was not established. The announcement names camping, campervan travel, professional outdoor work and emergency home backup as intended use cases, but it does not provide independently measured appliance runtimes.
When can you buy it, and which accessories fit?
Jackery’s announcement says orders open in the UK and Europe on 14 October 2026. As of 3 October 2026, that date is still in the future, so availability should not be treated as confirmed. Regional product names and accessory compatibility also matter: Jackery’s US page calls the related model HomePower 2000 Plus v2 and says it works only with the Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2, not the older Battery Pack 2000 Plus. Check the product listing for your region before choosing an expansion battery.

What to compare before choosing a power station
Size and weight are only part of the decision. Compare usable capacity, continuous and surge output, charging inputs and speed, expansion support, regional compatibility, and independent performance results. In this case, Jackery has published specifications and design claims, but no independent v2 test results were established.
