Set a mobile viewport—or emulate a named Android device—before navigating, then capture the page with page.screenshot(). There is no single universal Android viewport: choose a device profile or specify the CSS dimensions you need. Puppeteer’s device emulation applies device metrics and a user agent; it does not verify rendering on physical Android hardware.
Choose a device profile or explicit viewport
Use a named profile when you want Puppeteer’s supplied device metrics and user agent together. Use page.setViewport() when you need to state and control the CSS width and height yourself. Puppeteer’s current documentation surfaced API pages for versions 25.11.0 and 25.12.0; check the documentation matching your installed version if an option behaves differently.

The dimensions in an explicit viewport configuration are project choices, not universal Android standards. Choose dimensions for the device or layout you intend to represent and record them with the screenshot.
Capture a viewport-sized screenshot
Install Puppeteer in a Node.js project with npm install puppeteer. The following ES module example uses the Pixel 7 profile. To use explicit viewport dimensions instead, uncomment the setViewport() block and remove or comment out the emulate() line.

}Run the file with Node.js in a project configured for ES modules, or save it with an .mjs extension. Replace https://example.com with the page you need to capture. The image contains the visible viewport because fullPage defaults to false.
Set emulation before navigation
Configure the device profile or viewport before calling page.goto(). Resizing can affect how a site behaves, and changing mobile or touch settings may cause a reload in some cases. page.emulate(device) is a shortcut for applying the chosen device’s user agent and viewport settings.

Choose when the page is ready
The example uses waitUntil: 'networkidle2'. Pages that keep network connections open or load content after navigation may not reach the state you need with that condition. In those cases, navigate using a condition suitable for the page and wait for a specific element or state before taking the screenshot. The screenshot should be captured only after the content you want is visible.
Capture the full page or a specific area
For a viewport capture, omit fullPage or set it to false. To capture the complete document instead, set fullPage: true:

});Puppeteer’s screenshot options also support clipping to an area, choosing an image type, setting image quality for applicable formats, and controlling background behavior. Use those options when the deliverable needs a cropped region or a particular output format; they do not change which Android viewport you configured.
Troubleshooting
- The screenshot has desktop layout. Confirm that you called
emulate()or configuredsetViewport()before navigation. With explicit settings, include the mobile properties your target requires, such asisMobile. - The page reloads after changing the viewport. Avoid changing mobile or touch settings after navigation. Configure them before
page.goto(), then wait for the page to reach the state you want to capture. - The screenshot misses content that appears later. Navigation completion does not guarantee that every site-specific element has rendered. Wait for the needed element or state before calling
page.screenshot(). - The image is taller than the screen. Check whether you set
fullPage: true. Remove it or set it tofalsefor a viewport-sized capture. - The result does not match a real Android device. Puppeteer emulates device metrics and a user agent; it does not establish how the site renders on physical Android hardware. Validate on a real device separately if hardware-specific behavior matters.
