Then use a full-page screenshot. The full-page setting captures the document that is currently available; it does not necessarily make a site fetch every item in an infinite feed.
What a full-page screenshot does—and does not do
A normal screenshot shows the visible viewport. A full-page screenshot aims to show the page’s entire scrollable document, including content beyond that viewport. Playwright describes it as capturing the full scrollable page as if it fit on a very tall screen.
That is different from loading an infinite feed. A site may fetch more posts, products, or results only after you scroll. If those items have not loaded into the page, a full-page capture may not include them. The practical sequence is therefore load the needed content first, then capture the page. Sites behave differently, so inspect the result rather than assuming the feed is complete.
Choose a capture method

Handle dynamic loading in the automation workflow |
Load the feed before capturing
- Open the page and wait for its initial content to finish loading.
- Scroll down by a portion of the visible page, rather than jumping straight to the bottom. This gives the site a chance to trigger its loading behavior.
- Wait for newly appended items, images, or other content to appear. If the site shows a loading indicator, wait for it to finish.
- Repeat until the last item you need is visible and no further relevant items appear after another scroll-and-wait cycle.
- Take the full-page screenshot and inspect it for missing content, repeated sticky controls, or cut-off sections.
This is a practical workflow, not a universal completion test: the browser documentation does not define one method that exhausts every site’s infinite feed. If you only need a particular portion, capture that section rather than trying to load an unbounded feed.

Capture it in Firefox
Firefox’s developer tools include a full-page screenshot button, disabled by default. To enable it:
- Open Firefox Developer Tools and open Settings.
- Under Available Toolbox Buttons, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Return to the page, load the feed items you need using the scroll-and-wait steps above, and click the camera icon in the Developer Tools toolbar.
- Find the saved screenshot in the browser’s Downloads directory and check that it contains the intended content.
If you want one feed card or content block rather than the page, Firefox also documents a Screenshot Node command in the Inspector’s context menu. That produces a targeted capture, not a single image of the entire feed.

Capture it in Chrome DevTools
Chrome DevTools includes a Capture a full-page screenshot technique. First scroll the page until the required dynamic content has loaded, then use DevTools’ screenshot controls to capture the full page. The exact command-menu route and labels can vary between Chrome versions, so use the labels displayed by your installed version rather than assuming every Chromium-based browser has the same interface.
If scrolling the main window does not move the content, the page may use an inner scrollable element. Chrome DevTools’ scroll badge can help identify scrollable elements. Scroll the active container, wait for more content, and then capture; a page-wide screenshot may not include content that was never loaded from that nested area.

Automate the process with Playwright
Playwright’s fullPage: true option captures the full scrollable page after the script has loaded the content. The following runnable Node.js example scrolls the main page in increments, waits between scrolls, and then takes the screenshot. The number of passes and delay are starting points, not a guarantee: adjust them for the site and verify that the required items have loaded.

})();Save it as capture.js, install Playwright with npm install playwright, and run node capture.js. Replace the example URL with a page you are entitled to capture. This basic loop does not know whether a site has finished loading: for a reliable recurring job, use a site-specific locator or other check to confirm new items appeared, and stop when the content you need is present. If scrolling happens inside a nested container, the script must scroll that element instead of window.

Playwright’s documented full-page option is for a page-wide capture; its Playwright MCP screenshot tool also documents a fullPage boolean and notes that it cannot be combined with a target selector. Use an element capture when a specific card or region is the goal.
Use WebDriver BiDi for protocol-level automation
In WebDriver BiDi, browsingContext.captureScreenshot accepts an origin setting. The default, viewport, captures the visible area; document captures the full scrollable document. This is an automation protocol option, not a normal browser-menu workflow. Check support and implementation details in the browser automation stack you use, and load dynamic feed content before requesting the screenshot.

Troubleshoot missing or awkward content
- The screenshot contains only the first items: The full-page option does not guarantee that a site’s infinite loader has fetched everything. Scroll in increments, wait for items to appear, and capture again after the content you need is present.
- The page does not move when you scroll: Look for an inner scroll area. Chrome DevTools’ scroll badge can help locate scrollable elements; automation may need to scroll that container rather than the main document.
- The capture ends early or is too large to use: There is no universal maximum image height established here; limits depend on the browser, version, page, and capture method. Capture sections separately if necessary, or use a site’s export or print option when one tall raster image is not essential. Label a PDF or other export accurately—it is not a screenshot.
- Sticky controls repeat or obscure content: Check the captured image. Full-page tools do not have one documented universal fix for sticky elements; a page-specific workaround or a targeted capture may be needed. Note if the layout was altered.
- Images or later content are blank: Wait longer after scrolling and confirm the images or items have actually loaded before taking the screenshot. A delay alone may not be sufficient on every site.

Capture only what you are allowed to share
A screenshot can reproduce private or restricted page content. Make sure you have permission to capture and distribute the material, especially when sharing the resulting image beyond your own use.
